Where have you found Abel? Is she just on a census, or do you have her marrying, or is it family legend? If on the census, I'm tempted to say that you have a boy with a tick in the wrong column, or a mangled name. Having found someone we suspect is a Florence on the 1901 census entered as Clarence and the tick in the female column cancelled, I'm inclined to be suspicious of unusual or unexpected names.
