Hello Everyone, I've often seen people on this board asking if anyone knows the full version of a shortened name and thought it might be a good idea if we made a list of the ones we've come across. I will start the list with a few, please add yours. If the list gets very long I will re-do the list in alphabetical order. Fanny can be short for Frances Peggy can be short for Margaret Harry can be short for Harold or Henry Jno can be short for John Lottie can be short for Charlotte.......................... |

I have a Mary to that was called Polly, Polly being longer than Mary I wonder why. Still trying to work out if Quennie is the name my ancestor was christened with or short for Mary(Queen) or Victoria (Queen) hope to find the birth certificate one day. Irene |
