ADVICE NEEDED AFTER UNSUCCESSFUL LOOK UP !!

Hi, I am having immense problems finding a reference for my dad's birth certificate his details are as follows:- Name:Thomas James William McCollum Birth date:31/01/1946 Birthplace:Nairobi, Kenya He also served 22 years in the Army I have his Regimental number on my birth certificate if that would be any use some how!! I cannot seem to find anything out on either of his parents. REFERENCE BIRTHS. Name: Thomas McCollum Birth:1928 (-5yrs) Ireland (Co Tyrone) & Name: Joan Gertrude E Gough Nee McCollum Birth: 02/12/1928 Africa(Botswana???) I could really do with some guidance as to what to do after checking latter day saints records, BMD records & Ancestry*com Thank you very much Susie x

Perhaps the birth was registered in UK via Overseas Births section. This was often done with people working for government or in the forces. Perhaps a look in the Overseas section of BMD's might find him.
