Not only am I desperate for the 1911 census, I really want Freebmd to get up to 1920s at least. I am going mad ploughing through page, quarter and year for events when I only have a dim idea when they occurred - not even which decade. Desperate for computer to whizz through index and spill out some answers! nell |

oh wouldnt that be bliss, just type in what you want and the computer does the rest for you!! no trawling thru hundreds of pages and lots of other things, no pulling out hair thats beginning to go grey, no talking in your sleep or worse still, sleepless nights with a hubby giving you even funnier looks than normal lol. oh well a girl can dream of things to come. |

Barbara Thanks but its a hopeless story. I am looking for the death of Henry William Ledger. He was born 1879. I know he was alive in 1918 when his youngest child was born. He isn't 'deceased' on his eldest daughter's marriage cert, which was in 1923. His widow is listed as 'widow' on HER death cert in August 1957. So I am looking for a death sometime between 1823 and 1957, probably in London. No other clues. There is a mystery about him, his daughter always said he died of a 'nervous breakdown'. My husband thinks he may have been in an institution for a time (big gap between 3rd and 4th child) and possibly have committed suicide. If I could find him in 1911 it might be a clue! nell |

Hi Nell, My gr grandfather was deceased before any of his children married but he isn't marked as deceased on half the marriages. Maybe it's the same in your case. Gwynne |

Hi Helen, It's no good, I think our only hope is that someone invents a time machine so we can go back and find them all! Humm... some hopes in our life time hey! :-( Margaret |
