from the net: ''Deptford ancient parish extended into Surrey. The Surrey part, known as Hatcham, became part of Deptford St. Paul parish in 1730, becoming a separate ecclesiastical parish in 1845. New Cross straddles the Kent/Surrey border. '' Joy |

Egham is close to Staines - approx at 9.00 O'Clock if you view the M25 as a clockface. I'll look up the other name - wait one. Hatcham must be a mistrans .... New Cross is S. London - Lewisham/Deptford/Camberwell area. |

Is Egham anywhere near Hatcham ( poss now called New Cross) - trying to sort out a baptisim for an ancestor born 1797 in Egham Surrey to match with census info which states Hatcham. Many thanks for your help in advance . |
