Jools, just had a look on Ancestry at what you have found and I think you could be right. I think they must have been living together as man and wife but not married, ooohhh, as I have them as marrying in 1872. Thanks for your help I would have never thought of putting other spellings in, put it down to my age, Gloria |

Thanks Vikki, I have been looking on Ancestry but it would appear to be one of those 'stupid' days. It would appear you have found his death. Trying to find him before 1881 with no luck. I have his marriage details so I could send for a certificate to find his father, but thought I would try to find something myself first. Thanks again Gloria |

Samuel Lockett born 1849 Middleton, Lancashire, married Elizabeth Holt 1872 September quarter in Auckland Durham. In 1881 they were living in Burnley, Lancashire with 5 children, 2 of which were born in Durham. By 1891 Elizabeth is down as a widow. I cannot find him anywhere in 1871, neither Durham or Lancashire. Help, advice needed. Gloria |
