My parents are from Norfolk & Scotland, my husbands are from Doncaster & London. Yet if I go back 2 generations on our respective father's lines all roads seem to lead to Suffolk. Long Melford and Norton/Woolpit seem to be the places I need to go. Looking for the names of SALTER & GARRARD - early to mid 1800's. Any tips on how to maximise a visit? thanks Bridie Heath |

Another site you could check is the Cosford Database: http://fp.raylong.plus.*com/ (remove the *) If you click on the Long Melford link, there are 62 Salter names listed. Sue:-) |
