I know this has been asked loads of times but I never had one before! Can someone tell me what this occupation from 1929 was please? |

Can't find brush worker but found these Brush Drawer Fixed the bristles into the stock or handle of a brush. Brush Stock / Stale Maker Made the handles for brushes |

Hi David, I have lots of brush makers in my tree. Mostly from the Manchester area in the 1800s and they are usually described as brush makers or brush drawers. Brush makers were often very mobile and can be difficult to trace as they moved around so much, although I would guess that this was less so in the 1920s. You should take a look at www*brushmakers*com (replace * with dot) which is the homepage of the Society for Brushmakers Descendants. You have to pay to join and get full access but some of the general info is available for free. Good luck. Louise |
