I wonder if there is anyone who could help me. I am off to Weymouth next week and there is a rellie who is buried there but I don't know which church or Cemetery. She was only a baby when she died in 1859 the youngest, they lived in Bath St, Melcombe Regis which is near the river/port. Her name is Agnes Alice Simpkins born 1859, could be with the p or without. Is there anyone who knows the churches there as I would like to go and just walk around it. Nobody would have been since they moved away between 1861/71. Her mother died 1860 in Bath and her father 1873 in Devizes. We know of 3 other children but they have disappeared by 1881. If its possible I would like to know where she is buried but that is a tall order for a week to find. Irene

Have you looked on the Dorset OPC site? The OPC for Melcombe Regis/Weymouth might be able to suggest a few things.

Hi thanks, do you just type in Dorset OPC, or is there a web address. Thanks for your quick reply. Irene

if you know the date and place of death try contacting Dorset record office by e mail. I did this with Hampshire and they were able to tell me where my Gt Gt Grandfather was buried. ann Glos

Thank you Ann will do that tomorrow, I think we may have shorten the odds, she was in the pairish of Melcombe Regis on the Weymouth & Portland BC site, I found her there but whether its the Cemetery or St Mary's or St John's (these last two confused me) I don't know yet. Irene
