I am still quite new to this so if i state the obvious please be nice, lol. I have Betsy M Steadman ( nee sellars)aged 28 on the 1901 census born tattershall thorpe lincs, when i looked for her on 1881 census family search she is aged 6, born Tattershall Thorpe Lincs. Living with Henry and Mary Hurton, down as daughter. I checked next door and found a Sellars family. Could anyone tell me could this be a census address error or something else? Thank you Kirsty x

Have you viewed the image? It could be an error by the trancsriber. Or she may have been visiting the neighbours and the enumerator got the relation wrong. AL P.S Just looked at image, think it is a census error but you'd need birth cert to confirm parents or look her up on www.familysearch.org with possible parents names. Hope this has helped.

I think it's right and Betsy is daughter of Mary J, who is the daughter of the Sellars next door.

Since Henry and Mary Jane didn't marry till 1880, Betsy kept MJs maiden name. Not sure where her birth record is though.
