I have George Smith who on his marriage cert in 1918 is classed as a Soldier. Due to the Smith name, having probs tracing him and was wondering if this is a possible route. c x |

Claire, Sympathies on the surname! The Public Record Office has records of WW1 soliders (who survived their service!) on microfilm. They are well indexed and whilst there might be 25 George SMITHs, if you have additional info about him - like his next of kin (ie parents/wife), it shouldn't be impossible to find. Happy hunting!
