Hi Does anyone know anything about Security Notices? I have a Hewlett Packard computer. A 'Backweb Security Notice' has just been displayed on my screen. It states that a new certifcate has arrived for channel 'hp home server' which will be used to digitally sign the channel. Do I wish to accept, yes or no. A copy of a certificate is displayed, saying it is published by HP in California etc. What's bothering me is, it states 'Expires May 17 2002'. I would have thought the new date would have been shown. Wouldn't there have been something else since then? As I don't know anything about this side of things at all, I don't know if I should accept or not. Feel a bit of a divvy really. Joan |

Hi Walter Thanks for replying. My computer is just over 2 years old. I have Windows XP and the only virus protection I have is Norton Internet Security 2004. Regards Joan |

Kay and Ken Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am in Singapore and 7 hours ahead, so I couldn't contact HP last night as it was too late. I have just spoken to someone and was redirected to the web site. Apparently HP have a HPcentre on the computer for updates. I should accept if I am sure it is from HP. Isn't that what I was asking in the first place??? Regards Joan |
