I have been researching my tree and am wondering if there is a source of information on the names of various relationships. For instance I have come into contact recently with cousins' children. What relationship are they? Thanks for your help |

Try www.home-smith.co.uk and from the Home Page click on Defining Relationships. This explains the relationships and also shows them in chart form. There are other possible sites - try searching on 'first cousins' (inverted commas necessary, and try UK rather than world wide search) Good luck. Janet Barratt |

Thanks Janet. I typed 'relationship names' in a search engine and up popped a whole series of site with an explanation and charts of relationships. I keep forgetting how good search engines are these days and didn't even think of that David |
