I have found a Payne Jacob b 1775 m 1801 in St Benedicts Huntingdon Mary Clark. The parish entries for St Benedicts are held in Cambridge. What information would I get by asking for a copy of the marriage entry as certificate is out of the question. Linda

If you found it on the IGI, you might find there is more information on the actual record. However this is not guaranteed - it depended a lot on what the vicar/parish clerk chose to enter. Some of them have occupations and even a parents name. If you are unlucky it might just say the bride and grooms names. You would probably get to know if one of them was not 'otp' (of this parish) but bear in mind you only had to live somewhere for a short time (a few weeks) to be considered 'otp'. Anne

I was in Huntingdon archive not too long ago and unless there has been a dramatic change the PRs for St Benedict and St Mary/Benedict were there. Have you phoned Huntingdon to make sure - and you will probably have to book to see them too ....... very busy archive with everyone looking for connections with Oliver Cromwell ! - or not !

Joseph am unable to get to Huntingdon - I'm in London, do they take requests for look-ups via email or phone? Lin
