I have a female named on Ancestory as 'Tollex' in the 1891 census. When I view the image to me it looks like 'Jolly' or 'Tolly' any suggestions as to what the real name might be? Thanks! :)

Could it be Polly

She was only born around 1888, as of yet i cant find her on 1901 census, though still looking! Surname is HEARSUM or HARSUM, the family seem to vary between the two spellings!

Having looked at the image again, yes it could perhaps be a Polly......

The plot thickens!!!! I cant find the father in 1901, so presume he has died as he would be in his early 80's, the mother died between 1881-1891. The youngest three children in in 1891 are David, Daniel and Tollex. They were listed as son and Daur to the head of household. The eldest son and his wife were also living with them in 1891. In 1901 I can find eldest son with his wife. The eldest son is the head of the house, and below are David, Daniel, and Flory. So perhaps the 3 children are in fact his children and not his siblings? But if Flory is Tollex her age has changed by about 4 years! So now its a choice of Tollex, Flory, Jolly, Polly!?

I think you're right about the children but I don't know about Polly/Flory. In 1891 it looks like Polly but in 1901 I would say it is definately Flory and there is the age difference. Is it possible they are two different people (sisters) and that either Polly is living elsewhere (I can't find her though) or that she died between 1891 and 1901. Margaret
