I am trying to add message to Trying to Find list but cannot work out how to do this. Keeps sending me to my own list of names. I click on relevant name I am trying to find and then cant work out where to go from there. Above this message is has an option. 'If you want to add a trying to find message click here' I have done that 3 times but where do I go from there. Sorry but getting really frustrated. Thanks Pam. |

Hi Pamela Go into Name Summary and then click on the surname that you want to add the message for. Then click on Entire site and it should give you a fresh screen. Scroll down to Trying to Find and click on that. It should then say Welcome to the ****** Trying to Find Board and there's a click here link almost under the tab for the chat board. That should, in theory, bring up a box with the surname over the top. You can add your message to the board from there. Hope it works Lou |

Lou, Thanks so much. Hooray. Have put message on. Thought I was going mad. Brilliant site though. I have found so much out. Ordered lots of certificates. No one even knew proper name for great grandfather. Through this site have found his name, birth parents, brothers and sisters, his first wife's maiden name, his second wife and all their children together. Amazing. Thanks again. Best wishes, Pam. |

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! Wonder where that is? Floating around this site somewhere. Will try again. Thanks for help. Best wishes Pam. Just found in Webb General Topics List!!!!! Do you think I should start again? |

Sadly Maggie your tip didn't work for me. I got into a 'Trying to Find' board for one of my family names but once there, there was nowhere on the site to then select 'trying to find'. I am trying to put find a name that is not in my tree but appears regularly in census returns as a relative. Miserable Hill Billy |

Hill Billy(!!) Think genes must have changed something.... This method worked yesterday (and today - just checked)!! Get on to Name Summary Page Click on any trying to find page In bar at top, delete the surname at the end, and put in the one you want e.g. smith http://www(.)genesreunited(.)com/genesreunited(.)asp?wci=membersbook&bb_type=t&surname=smith post a message in the usual way. If you cut and paste the address above (without the brackets as usual), putting the name you want instead of Smith, it will take you straight to the trying to find page for the name you want. Good Luck, Maggie |

Oh Gosh...! I'm confused. I will have to print this out to try as I had the same problem. GR don't explain it very well. Or... I was going to say is it just me!...but it's obviously not Just me :) |
