UPDATE***ORDERING MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE?

Hi, How do iIorder a marriage certificate I have found on the civil registration. I have got all my other certificates through Staffordshire and Lancashire bmd. this one is for a marriage in Warwickshire and isn't on their bmd site!! Cate

You can order online here: www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ They will need the year, quarter, event, name(s) volume & page from the gro index. or from the relevant Warwickshire register office, there's a list here: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/RegOffice/ The local office will just want the event name (s) and year. If you order from the gro, it will probably take longer but be a photocopy of the copy originally received from the register office. If you order from the local office it will be quicker but they may copy it out from their original. Either way it will cost £7. nell

Hi, If you have the GRO ref you can order on line at, WWW.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificate. It will cost you £7.00 Deb OOps beaten to it...

Can you order any dte of cert from the local? I tried Southwark web site and they said you could only order from the certs dated after 1900, I think it was. david

David, I think the London offices all tend to refer you back to the GRO, I had the same with Southwark.
