go to http://www(.)census-online(.)com/links/ and be prepare to be astounded ! There is all sorts of census data here, for U.S.A, Canada, and the U.K, divided up into States / Counties. Amongst other things: workhouse censuses (includes inmates and staff) , lists of strays, village censuses (censi ??), Whites Directory, ... Some of the data has been collected "privately" with special emphasis on particular family links, some seems to be general transcriptions of records. Click on the U.K. countries list, and you even get a map of the counties, invaluable for overseas searchers (and even some british searchers !) . |
