How do you wipe a floppy disk clean? I'm using ME Jeanette

Double-click "My computer" (probably on desktop). Right-click on "Floppy disk drive" then left-click on "Format" (assuming your disk is in the drive).

Open the Floppy by 1. Put floppy in the A drive. 2. Click on START 3. Click on MY COMPUTER 4. Click on the A DRIVE....you should now be able to view what is on the floppy. There are several ways to go about deleting the files on this ....you can simply RIGHT click on the file(s) you wish to delete.....a drop down box appears; choose DELETE and you will then get another box that appears asking if you are sure if you want to delete file....reply YES or OK and the file has been deleted from the floppy. Deleting this way will enable you to keep whatever files you may want to keep and delete those you don't want. If you want to delete everything quickly, wiping the disk clean, use Geoff's advise above. Judy

Is it possible to clean a disc as I have saved a few things on discs but I have noticed that I have duplicated some and I would like to use the discs again?

Sue: You can add and delete on a floppy as you please....it's reusable. Judy

Judy, Is an ordinary disc reusable once you have deleted what was on it?

Some of the CD disks are rewritabble, meaning that you can use them over.....but you lose a lot of the quality when you do that. I prefer the disks that you can burn to only once.....Disks also hold a lot more information than a floppy disk (floppy disks can be used over and over again.) All computers have the floppy disk capability so it is a convenient format for backing up if you have no other resources (like a CD burner.) Judy

Judy, Thank you for your time I wished I had your knowledge on computers, why is everything to do with computers so hard to understand.............
