There was an English poet called Sir John Suckling, 1609-1642. Thought I had heard the name in connection with poetry, so looked it up on Google. Could this family be descendants?

I went to junior school 1950-1957 with an Eleanor Suckling in Romford. May be a connection.

Just been looking on A n c e s t r y 1891 and came across this unusual name,if anyone wants further info please contact me: John Edward Suckling-head-M-40-Railway Platelayer-Born Romford Essex. Rose Anne-36-wife-m-born-as above. 7 children His brother George also Railway Platelayer and lodger George Pooley,also Platelayer. The name just facsinated me,still have the site open,so if this is ur rellie just email me. Jude
