Love Changes Everything is on The very Best of the Treorchy Male Voice Choir, available from Amazon at a knock down price.

Think I'll browse the list again and treat myself to something...

Ooh Ann, If I Loved you is 'our' song!

Whenever I think or Treorchy I think of Max Boyce. Loved his broadcasts.

AnnCardiff Report 14 Aug 2008 14:17

surely Myfanwy must be one to choose!!!

Treorchy isn't mentioned in my house as OH was a life member with Pendyrus and there is healthy rivalry between the two!!!

Pendyrus sang at my son's wedding and one of the songs was Myfanwy!! went down really well I can tell you

Sadly I can no longer listen to Welsh choirs without bursting into tears - one day maybe!!!

Nid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus,
Aur y byd na'i berlau mân:
Gofyn wyf am galon hapus,
Calon onest, calon lân.

Cytgan:
Calon lân yn llawn daioni,
Tecach yw na'r lili dlos:
Dim ond calon lân all ganu-
Canu'r dydd a chanu'r nos.

Pe dymunwn olud bydol,
Hedyn buan ganddo sydd;
Golud calon lân, rinweddol,
Yn dwyn bythol elw fydd.

Hwyr a bore fy nymuniad
Gwyd i'r nef ar edyn cân
Ar i Dduw, er mwyn fy Ngheidwad,
Roddi i mi galon lân.

don't ask for a luxurious life,
the world's gold or its fine pearls:
I ask for a happy heart,
an honest heart, a pure heart.

Chorus:
A pure heart is full of goodness,
More lovely than the pretty lily:
Only a pure heart can sing -
Sing day and night.

If I wished worldly wealth,
He has a swift seed;
The riches of a virtuous, pure heart,
Will be a perpetual profit.

Late and early, my wish
Rise to heavan on the wing of song,
To God, for the sake of my Saviour,
Give me a pure heart.

Calon Lan Jac? My favourite - I have already told OH they will have to sing it at my funeral - in Welsh and not taking it too fast!

The Treorchy have recorded all sorts of stuff - show tunes and all sorts, not just the hymns, so I'm sure you'll find something.

Oh loves Men of Harlech but as it's a war song, and they're fighting the saxons.

Hi Gwyn, a couple in church after the signing of the registrar are the ones we're tussling with.
We're going to play a cd.

OH was born in Treorchy and I swear half of Wales is related to him, so we decided we're going to have a song/s by them as part of our wedding ceremony.

What song of theirs would you like to recommend??
