Marilyn I have a thread on Tips which I will nudge up for you about the costs.
Yes it is worth it, lots of info and quite easy to use.

Have you tried the 14 day free trial yet?

Linda :o)

Thank you Linda,

No,
I have not tried the 14 day trial yet !
Just that if I don't wish to continue after a year ,
will Ancestry continue to take my money from my account ?

You can cancel before the full 14 days and nothing more should be taken

But be warned once you try it and find Census' births marriages and deaths you will be hooked

I had subscribed for 3 or more years now I have to join again and keep going

Ancestry is well worth every penny.

You really cannot manage without it. A must have subscription.

Debbie...............it gives you Scottish census records on there from 1841 - 1901

I love Ancestry and more and more is being added all the time..............it is a lot of money to find at once, bur worth every penny in my opinion

Hi Marilyn - I personally think its great value, but not forever. Get all your background work done then track each link and branch of your tree. It takes a long time but in a year you will find it worth both the time and the money. Then after a year let your membership lapse. If you need to go on after that it will probably be just for one or two searches and you can use the pay as you go method for that.
Good luck.

I think it is well worth it. I used to buy the discs of the various census, and it cost me a packet. With Ancestry you have it all from 1841 to 1901.

I am never sorry I subscribed.

Its well worth it and quite frankly works out cheaper than adding credits. If you go into your account and count up all the money you have forked out on here already I think you will be amazed.

I just love the hints that they just shove in your face - better than hot matches!

In fact I dont family tree hunt on this site at all, I refer back to other membes trees that they have allowed me to see but thats it.
