Huia Report 9 Aug 2009 18:37

Thank you for caring, ladies. I am sitting here dabbing my eyes from reading your postings. I woke 2 hours ago (3.30) and couldnt get back to sleep so thought I would have a play on my computer to try to get tired again. I am so very appreciative of all the love and advice I get from you all.

Going back to bed soon for another hour if OH doesnt wake before that.

Huia.

Hello Linda. Good to see you on here,as well as on Sue's thread.
I added about Huia on here as she has a lot of friends, who may not read the carers thread. I did see what you had added, and thought I had better
let the girls on here know as well. If you had not added to the carers thread,I may well have missed it. Even though I do try to read it on a regular basis. But I have not book marked it,maybe I should have, think I will do it in a moment.
Thanks again. Mo

Mokent
It was me that added to the Carers Thread. I too am worried for and about Huia. I hope she does take care of herself. She's hopefully sleeping now. It is a big worry for her.
Thinking of you Huia and please take some advice and talk this through with your son.

Good afternoon everyone.
This is a special message for Huia, and I know you will all be concerned
for her.
I read on the carers thread, that Huia's husband went missing yesterday.
The police were looking for him. Thank the lord, they found him.
I would just like to send Huia a great big [[[[[[[[[[[HUG]]]]]]]]]]]]].
Please consider what your son has asked of you Huia, and move nearer to
him,so that he can help you. You have endured so much worry on your own,it's time to accept your son's help. I mean no offence in saying this,it's because I care that I do. Take care love.
I hope you are all well, and enjoying the lovely weather.
I have just finished the cleaning, and am now going to have a very lazy afternoon. Well I will after I have done the dinner.
Love and all my best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Sallie Report 8 Aug 2009 11:24

Good morning everyone, just having a break from doing some scrap pages, so thought I'd look in to see how everyone is.

I've decided that I am going to spend most of the day working on the scrapbook. Hopefully!

Sue it's nice to hear from you -- I'm sure the boys enjoyed themselves doing all the activities with you. Hope you have a nice week off work, and have some good days out.

Marilyn, I have a small hearing aid that I bought myself-- I hardly use it -- I was disappointed with it from the start, apart from being uncomfortable and falling out now and again, I don't seem to hear that well with it. Been back with it a few times but whatever they did to it hasn't made any difference.

Going to get on now, so will speak to you all later. Have a good day everyone.

Love, Sallie.xx

Hi again folks.
Just popped on for a moment,to let Huia know that I have sent Jean's photo to you. Hopefully I have correct e.mail addy.
Nice to hear from you again Sue,I thought you had maybe gone on holiday.
Oh Marilyn, the image of you both struggling with that quilt, had me laughing to myself. It would be so heavy when it's wet. Luckily our local
dry cleaners, usually have an offer on at this time of year,on doing duvets.
Off to bed now. Night Night all. Love Mo xxx

Hello All

Just caught up on all your postings. I havent had much time to write as been busy with the kids.

We been cooking cakes, painting, watching dvd, playing board games any thing to keep busy and out of the rain over the last few days.

Today was dry so my OH took the boys up a local park while I caught up with the ironing. Jobs dont seem to get done when everyones at home.

We have both got next week off from work so are going to take the boys out each day weather is going to be good ( if I believe the forecast).

Been trying to work on my tree again but need to order some certifcates before I can move forward.

Hope you all have a great weekend and I will be in touch when I can.

Sue

I am wondering, dont you have separate covers for your duvets, ladies? I have duvets with removable covers, so they are no trouble to wash and dry. I have to say that when we married we were given a large candlewick bedspread. I tried to wash it in the old agitator washing machine. It filled the machine, and I could not get it through the wringer. Never again. I just made sure my OH didnt sit on it in his dirty work clothes or pull it up over his face at night. It was a white one which didnt help!

Jean, I have just sent an email suggesting that the trouble might be with your server. I know another server which will not send to/receive from my regular email addy. Luckily I have another which I have sent to you now.

Hi,

MO I never wash my duvet in the washing machine ,its too big a KING size.
I put it in the bath !! Stamp on it ,let it soak, then pull the plug and rinse.
The hardest part is after it run out of water ( this is where hubby comes in handy ) WE put it in a huge black bin liner and chuck it out of the bathroom window onto the patio outside.

Then its a laugh trying to put it on the rotary line, mind we get soaked ! LOL
But I would rather do it this way as I like the smell of clean soap powder & Softener, rather than dry cleaning.
Got another one to do another time !!..............
Jean,
Yes it is a NHS hearing aid.......the private ones I have bought, but are not as good as the NHS ones ..xx

Marilyn you are so lucky to be able,to get your winter duvet into your washing machine. I tried it once, cor what a joke,I fought with it for ages, and the darned thing won. I conceded that I had lost, and iv'e taken it to the dry cleaners ever since.
Was the extra £8 spent on your grandaughter. I know when any of my gang come with me,I always seem to spend more. It's nan can we try this,
or can we try that. Still they are not young for long are they bless them.

OH decided just after 5a.m. (6p.m. your time) to get up and make a cuppa so I have given up the struggle, have had a cuppa and my breakfast and replied to an email from my 'new' American relative. Tonight I will take a sleeping tab, otherwise I wont be fit to drive OH up to go hiking with his girlfriends on Sunday morning.

hi Everyone,

Funny about the deleted ones wonder who's they were ?

Well Mo I am delighted with my hearing aid , but its not good for answering the phone as the speaker is at the back of my head , well not exactly at the back, but further away from where my old hearing aid was,
But How lucky am I ?.......I have got my name down for an even better one in 6 weeks time....It s a state of the ark !! You can even put plug in an IPOD not that I walk around with one ,but I do like to listen to music when I'm traveling.

Now that's enough of me,hows everyone else.

Jean I bet looking at all those photos are bringing back so many memories ..!
Got granddaughter today and I have just been shopping and my bill was £8 more ....!!

Got to get our tea now...I have washed my winter duvet and its dry I'm so pleasd.

Bye for now .
