Morning All

Thank you all for asking about me ....Yes all went well and the consultant said I was out of the danger area !! and did not want to see me for another YEAR !

So the moral of the story is always get checked for Cervical Cancer as its very treatable ....I have survived ...LOL but I was NOT laughing 2yrs ago !!

Its a lovely day here in Devon today and very warm, a bit stuffy so I have opened nearly all my windows. But we have them dreaded little tiny flies well almost flies they dont fly they are like imps !!!
So tiny but they get into all picture frames and in the most wierdest places
I have got to go and make sure my sugar bowl has the lid on and anything else .

It's raining here at the moment, so lets hope that our visitors will bring some nice weather with them. I had a phone call off them before they left,

I hope Marilyn got on alright at the hospital.

Mo, our visitors are only staying one night this time. We haven't seen them for a while, so you can imagine all the talking we will be doing tomorrow. They are due to arrive about twelve, just in time for lunch.

Huia, isn't it lovely when you find a cousin, no matter how distant. I have found a few distant cousins through GR. Also found a third cousin in America a couple of years ago. We still keep in touch with each other.

Hoping all is well with Sue, Debbie and Grace.

Huia,what wonderful news for you,to receive so unexpectedly. I found my cousin through this site as well. We lost contact back in 1964,when I got married. It was lovely to hear that her mum is still alive,and doing well for herself,even though she is well in her nineties.
I'm thinking you will have to tie your OH to the bed,so you can get some sleep.lol Is he due to go into respite care yet? If they would only take him for a week,it would give you a chance to catch up with yourself. I do feel for
you love.
How did you get on at the hospital Marilyn? I hope it went well for you.
Jean is right,our Marie is an elegant lady. I felt quite dowdy against her
photo.
Mind you we have got lovely people on here,in looks and in other ways.
Sallie,you are such a busy lady. More visitors expected. How long are your friends going to be with you. Have a lovely time anyway.

Hello Girls,

Not a very nice day here in Derbyshire. Did the weekly shop a day early as we have visitors tomorrow. So had to get a few extras in. We don't see them often because they live in North Wales, so really looking forward to seeing them.

Marilyn, hope all goes well at the hospital for you. I'll look in later to see how you got on.

Jean, I'm still trying to get a couple of scrapbook pages done. Every time I go to make a start, we either get visitors, or a telephone call or have to go out unexpectantly. At this rate I'm not going to get the scrapbook done in time for November. I think I may have to shut myself in a room with a
Do Not Disturb notice on the door.

Marie hope all is well with you and your family. Nice to know that you are a glamour puss-- wish I was one, but no hope of that now. Ha, Ha.

Huia, hope you are managing to get some sleep. Isn't there a respite centre near you that perhaps your husband can go to, for perhaps a week
or two, so that you can have a break. Someone I know, goes every so often
so that it gives her husband a bit of a break.

I must go and start preparing for my visitors tomorrow.

Hello all, I heard you Jean, so i'm a glamour puss well I dont mind as I do like to dress up for my childrens weddings and on the odd occasion that I go out they are few & far between these days and unlike when I was young I dont mind having my photo taken I will send you some of my grandchildren later. June I will send you my E-mail addy again.
Sylvia I live in Bathurst New south Wales.It is very cold here in winter,thank you for asking, apart from the cold its a good place to live as the Blue Montains are only 90mins away, and Sidney approx. 3hrs away.

I am still around. I have my ups and downs, mostly the latter but occasionally bounce back. This morning I was feeling miserable as I had not slept well, woke at 2 and couldnt get back to sleep for almost 3 hours, then OH brought a cuppa in at 5.30 and again at 6.30. When I got up and looked at my emails, oh joy! there was one from somebody in America that I had tried several times to contact 3 yrs ago. I was sure we were related, and sure enough she is my 3rd cousin once removed. It certainly brightened up my day to finally hear from her. Perhaps that is why she didnt reply 3 yrs ago, saving it up to make me happy.
Must go, want to try to get a nap now I have finished lunch, hoping that OH doesnt disturb me.

Jean,I also sent Marie an e.mail,and it did not go. When I checked her addy,I had forgotten to put the O in her surname,silly silly me. And I am more than sulking,I am sitting in the corner with my thumb in my mouth,and crying. lol

If and when you do get down to visit family,I will have to come to Bromley

Here I am, we had a visitor this morning, now who would come visiting on a monday morning???? then I decided to do some more scrapages, then I went for a nap, just put the potato pie in the oven, now I am whacked all that activity at my age too !!

Hope you are all okay. It's very quiet on here today.

Grace so pleased you all had a good time yesterday. Like you said a good laugh certainly does the soul a lot of good --even in the bleakest of times, if we can see the funny side of life, it helps. I've never been to Canterbury, but have always wanted to go -- hopefully we will go one day. One of my daughter's friends went to Canterbury University, she liked living there.
Good luck to your granddaughter, she deserves to get on.

Mo Alun and I use to live in Beckenham when we were younger, ( many moons ago) We always liked going into Bromley shopping. My auntie moved to Bromley from Catford when my uncle died, her daughter lived a few roads away from her. My cousin and her family still lives there, been promising her that we will go and visit her and her hubby one day. We never seem to have the time.
Hope that both you and Roly are okay, and that you had a good weekend.

Heard from Jean earlier today, I have been having trouble receiving photos of her scrapbook pages by e-mail. At least it's all sorted now!
It was nice to see a photo of Jean and her hubby. My problem is finding a photo of myself on my own--don't like having my photo taken, so all the photos of myself are taken with other people.

I hope Huia, Sue, Marie and Marilyn are all alright, and that Debbie and her family are enjoying their holiday.

Hello girls.
Grace do you know the Jolly Sailor pub,in Seasalter. Well my son was running it,up till about three months ago. He then got transferred to a pub nearer to us. I cant believe we have probably driven past your camp site,
especially if it is opposite the sea wall.
I know what you mean about the shop lifting in canterbury. I was saying to Marilyn how bad it had got in Bromley. There is always a big Police presence up there now because of it. And also the violence.
Ooooh you are good,cooking a big piece of topside,whilst you are on holiday. But I dare say it works out more economical,than going out for a meal,when there are lots of you present.
It certainly sounds like you had fun. Are you sure the tears were running
down your faces,and not anywhere further down the body. I know if it were me,the tears would have been running down my legs.lol No offence meant.
I would have loved to have learnt sign language. I have a lady that lives at the back of me,who is deaf. And fortunately she lip reads,as I tend to forget she can't hear me. Both she and her husband are deaf,but her three boys could all hear.
I wonder where,Jean,Sallie,Marilyn,Sue,Huia have got to.

At last I am able to get back on the computer! We were out most of the day yesterday, it was very late last night when we got back. Alun and I got invited to our friends house that we haven't seen for a good while, Joy had made us some food, so you can all imagine the rest of the story. So very late getting home--but we had a good evening with them.

Marie, sorry to hear that the girls are sick again--hope they will both be better soon. Please give them a big hug from me. Try and get some rest,
looking after little ones is very tiring.

Jean, I've left you a message on Ann's thread. I'm going to get Alun to check this laptop, just in case there is something wrong. I'm afraid I'm not very good at the technical side of computers.

Mo, I loved watching Dixon of Dock Green years back, ( now I'm showing my age) we always sat down as a family to watch it. Hope all is well with you, Roly and the family, and that you have had a nice weekend. I was expecting a quiet weekend, and then received an invite to our friends house, late on Friday.

Marilyn, have you recovered from looking after your grandchildren yet?
I hope you have got your voice back--sorry I didn't realise that they had taken it off you. Ha, Ha.
