Sallie tall and willowy, short cropped auburn hair , very tanned.....
Debbie,medium height, brown hair tied in a pony tale,always in jeans...
Grace, another elegant lady white hair cut like Judy Dench, quite tall.
Am I right? whoops nearly forget our Marie, I think she is fairly tall, grey hair, very fit,lovely grandma......your turns now...lol....you better get me right or else....

Hello All,

Marilyn, it's nice to see you home again. So pleased you had a great holiday with your family!

Debbie, hope you and the family will have a good holiday. I really hope that you will have good weather-- especially dry weather!

Jean, pleased to hear the good news about J. I'm sure that both of you are very relieved. Have you decided where you would like to go on holiday, yet?
At the moment I am having a bit of a problem with some of the pages of the Family History scrapbook I am making. Not sure whether to put more than one photo on some of the pages, as I need to put a good bit of journalling on the pages as well. I just wish I could make up my mind.

Mo, hope both you and Roly are alright. I'm sure you mentioned that Roly had an appointment to see a Consultant sometime at the beginning of August. Maybe I've got it wrong!

Grace, not sure if we have met before.
Welcome back!

Huia, I wish I was as good as you are, taking photos. I'm afraid , that both Alun and I are hopless at taking them.

All the best to Sue and Marie.

Got a few jobs to do before Richard and Christie arrive tomorrow, so I had better get on.
Alun and I are really looking forward to seeing them.

Best wishes to you all.

Love, Sallie.xx

Hi everyone, how are we all today? Certainly everybody sounds very chirpy. This will probably be my last update until after our hols. We get back late at night on Sun 16th, so don't go panicking about me. I'm just off the radar for a while again.

I can't use my digital camera very well, and as for transferring things to the computer - well, what do you think I have a 13 year old for? Actually he and friends have gone pier jumping on the high tide today, so I hope he is ok. Difficult sometimes to "let go" and not be too over protective.

Mo, what a sad world we live in with you not feeling safe at night. The bay where I took the children on Friday was full of fishing people of all ages, from about 6 years upwards. And there were loads of pier jumping teens as well. It was like a huge muti age party there and a lovely atmosphere. That's not to say we don't have troublesome Hot Spots around, of course we do, but we are reasonably safe and sound over here. We know how lucky we are.

We have glorious sunshine today, but rain forecast for tomorrow, so I am busy washing towels & sheets to get them dry in the air. They always smell so much better than drying inside. I don't have a tumble drier, so in winter, I wash all the big things, then the local launderette dries them for me. Much cheaper (I think) than having them do it all for me.

That's about it for a while now. I wish you all a lovely couple of weeks. Please keep your fingers crossed for us for nice weather. Camping is great but not in 2 weeks of sogginess. I'll let you know where we ended up once I find out myself!!!!

Best wishes to you all.

Hi Everyone.......I'm here ...LOL

Lovely Mo sent me PM yesterday just to check I'm alright.

Well I had three lovely weeks with my grandchildren and loved every minute.
But it was HOT !!! too HOT .....

Good job we had the swimming pool to cool off and the air con in the villa,you could not have survived otherwise !
Then when I got to Bristol airport ,on went a jumper & cardigan we were freezing.
But now I have got used to our British climate AGAIN LOL

Its quite nice today and I have done a lot of washing mostly towels as its windy, but warm.

I have just been out in the garden as everything has overgrown,and have just cut back my Rosemary bush what a shame all that Rosemary thrown away.....do you think Sainsburys would have been interested !!

Now whats all this about Photo's ?
Can someone send me some piccy's and I'll send you one of me ,just let me know and I'll send my e mail addy.
But I want you all to guess what I look like first ??? LOL

Hope you are all well and that you are also looking forward to any holidays.
Glad you & HO sound better Jean.

Speak later.

Jean, dont put the original photos into your scrap books. Make copies so that you can keep the originals safe in their albums. And of course you then have the scan on your computer - put it on a CD as well - so that if your album gets destroyed you can retrieve your photos from the CD which you will have put in a safe place (says she who hasnt done it yet).

Yes, if you send me your email addy I can send a photo or two for you to laugh over. Re Mo not looking like you had imagined, I had thought Liz the purple one was short, slim and dark haired. I have now seen her photo and she is not short and while not fat she is 'better built' (majestic?) than I thought and a blonde. But she is still the lovely person she always was even if she doesnt fit the picture I had in my mind.

I am getting to know quite a few people on here now. I would like to invite anybody who is a nice person to send me their email addy so I can invite them to join another (free) site on which we can actually add photos to threads like this. It makes it so much more colourful and interesting and you dont have to email the photo to a dozen or more people. I am not suggesting you drop your membership of GR. It has its uses too but the other site is great with the ability to put good photos on, not like the photos page on GR. I dont think the world and his dog can look at the site unless they are members. It is not like facebook.

I may have been tall and statuesque when I was younger, a lot younger,maybe 12 years old. But not now,I have shrunk with age,and the grey keeps getting the better of me. What was once a figure I was happy with,is now hanging down to me knees. The rheumatism makes me stoop,so nooooo you guessed wrong. But I love you for the beautiful discription,and ohhhhh how I wish. Well,Well, Well. Welcome back Grace,It's been ages since we heard from you,but it's such a lovely surprise to log on and find you are back.
So sorry to hear your bad news about your garden. We have a fox that comes around here at three-o-clock on a tuesday morning,and rakes through all the rubbish that has been put out for the dustmen. We know it's at that time,as Roly is very often awake at that time of the morning,looking out the bedroom window,as he gets the cramps in his legs.
Don't worry about the weather,the rain is due to clear from our region tommorrow,or so they tell us. [ I will believe it when I see it ].
Pop back and let us know how you are enjoying yourself.
Huia,our fox would make a lovely photograph for you,it's a pity I am not as
clever as you,at taking pics,or I would have taken one for you.
I tell you what girls,I have seen some of Huia's photo's,and they are really good.
So you have a lttle poser in that pied tomtit Huia. Perhaps it will come back for an encore.
I hope your headache cleared up. Theres nothing worse is there,other than a toothache.
I had to chuckle at what you said about the roof being blown away,and all
your stuff being blown over the countryside.
Mind you,Roly is as bad. When we go to bed,he checks everything is locked,twice before he will go up. He can't settle unless he has done it.
Hello our little flower Jean.
What brilliant news about J. Are you sure they never took anything else out when they operated. Fancy not telling you they took the appendix out as well. Still that's another thing J wont have to worry about.
Hurry and book your holiday,before they fill the spaces and you can't get in.
You could probably get booked in down here some where,but it's along way away.
Grace would be a good person to ask actually,as she is holidaying not far from me. You could find out what it's like where she is.
I think I will have to p.m Marilyn as we have not heard from her,since she got back from the states.
I would love to see your photo's Jean. We can all visualise what each other looks like,but we are probably miles out on our suppositions.
Bye for now everyone. Speak again tommorrow. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hello my little munchkins, some good news, J has been to see the consultant and......he doesnt have to go for 6 months.....they also took his appendix out too. that was a big surprise..sounds like if they are in the area they whip the appendix out....lol....so now we shall have a look for somewhere to holiday ....

You all sound as though you have been quite busy, I have just trawled through loads of old photograph albums, and taken all the photos out, with the intention of making more scrapbooks, I have already done a lot, but love doing them , managed to work out out to send photos of some of the page to Ann in Glos and the scrapbook thread, she also sent me some of hers,btw,I am going to do a G.R, one I have a lot of photos folk have sent from various meets and some from Dutch , so gang if you have any you would like me to put in ,p.m. me....

Huia, I would love to have some of yours too I will send my e-mail if you like,

sending big hugs and love to you all.....~~~~~ Mo ~~~~ x

When I went to the kitchen my OH shooshed me and pointed out the window at a little pied tomtit which was sitting just under the window. I went to get my camera and it flew off but landed on a shed roof just within nice sight of the dining room window, which I carefully opened and then zoomed in on him and took 13 photos before he flew off. I think he was deliberately posing for me, the little show-off. Now I must download them to my computer and choose the best. What a pity we cant put decent photos on these threads as I can on another site I am on.

~~~ back to Mo and co.
Have had a few bad nights sleep but I am still alive and kicking, albeit with a rotten headache. I have decided my numerous boxes of material which are waiting to be made up into something will have to wait much longer while I sort through the rest of the 'junk' so they can go up in the attic to give me more room for sorting the other stuff. My OH does not like having things in the attic in case a gale blows the roof off (hasnt in the 36 yrs we have been here) and blows my stuff all over the countryside.
Better get on with things. He has washed our breakfast dishes and is now drying them so I will need to find where he has put everything.
Hello ladies,good to hear fro you.
Sue,I can't wait for Ice Age Three to come out on D.V.D,we have the first two. And being the big kids we are we loved them. Mind you we watched them several times,and found bits that we had not spotted the first times
round. And with us having warped sense of humours,found them so amusing.
I hope they don't keep you waiting to long for your dental appointment.
It seems we have to wait for everything in this country doesn't it.
Hello Debbie you stranger,it's so good to catch up with you.
It sounds like you have had a hell of a year so far,keep your chin up love,
god willing it won't get any worse.
You deserve your break away,possibly to Andorra. I am sure you will enjoy
yourselves wherever you end up.
Have you got a people carrier,to take the whole family in.?
It sounds like all the children have been enjoying themselves.
You are brave taking the children night fishing. Mind you,I suppose you are lucky living where you do. We certainly could not do that here,for fear of being assaulted in some way.
Even though here where we live,is quite a small place,there has been a couple of murders not far from us. And quite frankly,it's a bit scaring,so I do not venture out alone after dark.
Sounds like you are busy again Sallie,with your scrap booking.
I am afraid I am not exactly the most patient of people,and would lose interest to quickly to do it. So I am jealous really.
I have to go now,to do dinner. So I will speak to you again soon.
Love to all. Big ~~~~~~~to Jean,Marilyn and Huia.~~~~~~Mo xxx
Hi Everyone,
Sue, thank you for asking about Jennie, everything seems to be alright at the moment, but they will keep monitoring her, because there is a very slight chance that the medication can cause problems with the blood.
I hope all goes well at the hospital for you. My niece had trouble with her four wisdom teeth, she had them all taken out at the hospital. I know a few people that have had trouble with their wisdom teeth, too.
I love it when our Chloe comes, we have had a lot to do with her since she was born. We have a bit of fun, playing games and dancing. You can always send your youngest over for the fun and games Sue. There's no charge, it's all free!
Debbie, it's lovely to see you back. Sorry, things haven't been going too well for you. It's such a shock when you hear about a marriage breaking up, especially after so many years.
Well done, to the children on having such excellent school reports. They make you feel so proud. It starts at home with the parents, so you and hubby can give each other a pat on the back.
I'm sure Daniel, Matthew and their friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves on their fishing trip. Did you cook any of the fish?
I hope you will have good weather for your holiday in France.
It's very quiet here today, so I am hoping to do a page of the srapbook I am making. Some pages I know exactly what I want to do, and then get a block on what to do on other pages. But I enjoy doing it!
Mo, Jean, Marie, Huia and Marilyn, hope all is well with you and your families.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone!
Best wishes to you all.
Hi Everybody, I'm so sorry that I haven't been here for so long. I've just been reading all of the messages, and thank you for asking about me. I hope that all the aches, pains and ailments are clearing up and that Sallie, Jennie is doing well. Her medication certainly cost a lot, but you cannot put a price on health really, can you? As someone said, that is what Social Security are there for.
I actually haven't been away yet. I had a few problems with my computer which took ages to get sorted as I'm not the most efficient person when it comes to technology and its various temprements. We have also had a bit of a health crisis in the family and I think it all got on top of us a bit. Hubby hasn't been at all well, with worrying about his Dad, but all is ok now. In fact. the first 6 months of this year have been the hardest we have ever had, with various family members becoming very ill, a cousin having her husband cheat on her (after 24 years of marriage), and 2 relations pass away. They say that things go in 3's, well I think that ours have gone in 33's!!!!
Anyway, all is as well as it can be at the moment. Daniel & Matthew had a ball on their Activity Weeks, Luke & Sophie had a lovely end to term and Luke won the class prize for Year 3, so we were very proud of him. Luckily for us (and them) the children all had very good end of year reports, so we started off the summer holidays on the right note.
Last week, Luke & Sophie were on a Sports Course all week, which they loved. Daniel & Matthew spent most of the week fishing. They go in all weathers and usually manage to catch something. Though not all of it comes home with them. Last Friday I took D & M and a couple of friends late night fishing as the tides were exceptionally high and we fished on the tide till about 10.30pm. It was great fun, and all the children managed to catch something big enough to take home.
We are going away this coming Friday. Our usual holiday "plans". We get the boat to France then just go wherever we fancy. We have a large enough car to travel comfortably, we take a tent and just see where we end up. Not everyones ideal holiday, but great fun. We are considering the region around Andorra, but with all the dry weather and the fires in Europe at the moment, we may re-consider. Knowing our luck it will rain for the 16 days we are away.
I'd better be off for now. Thank you all so much for your thouhgts. I am fine, just trying to keep the family sane at the moment. I'll be glad to get away and have a good time with my own family.
Best wishes to you all.
Marie,I am sorry to hear your grandaughter is still not to good. There are so many bugs going round at the moment,that no one is completely immune from them. So please take good care of yourself.
Your weather should improve soon though shouldn't it?well I hope it does
A bit of sun makes all the difference doesn't it.
We have had heavy rain again,I don't know what has happened to our weather just lately,it's supposed to be summer for goodness sake.
It sounds like you have had an enjoyable day Sallie.
All that dancing sounds like fun. At least it gave you a small break from
tidying the house for a while. Even though you had more clearing up afterwards.
I am sure you will have a lovely time,when Richard arrives. It's always lovely to see family isn't it.
Well folks,I am of to my bed now.
