Hi there Sallie and others. I am still around. I look in at least once a day but dont always post on all the threads which I have in My Threads.
Our son was up from Rotorua on Sunday and showed me how to use the CD burner he gave me last Christmas so I am going to be busy burning all my photos and documents to CD or DVD (he says DVDs hold more). I also asked him about some of the things on the photo scan thing and he showed me what they do so I will be re-scanning some of the very old photos from my mothers and grandmothers photo albums to see if I can improve on them. So as you can see I might be too busy to come on here very much!
Plus I have been trying since last March to get rid of a lot of my 'junk'. My mother was a hoarder all her life and I have been a hoarder but I am determined to clean out some of the stuff. I even have some of mums stuff, also grandmas feather boa and Girls Own Annuals dating back to about 1887. I think most of those will be sold unless some family member wants them, although I will keep the first which was given to grandma by her mother for her 16th birthday.
So much to do, not enough hours in the day or days in the year.
Huia.

Hi Mo, Glad to hear that Roly's eye is improving! It will be nice when he won't have to put drops in anymore. I hope you are alright Mo! It's been a hard week for you, what with Roly, your granddaughter, then your grandson. My friend always says, ' if only we could switch our mind off, so that we couldn't worry ', it would be nice, especially when all the problems seem to come together.
Alun had had enough of teaching, he couldn't wait to get out. Most of the pupils he taught were alright, but there were a few that made teaching more and more difficult. Alun and the other teachers, said that they had got to the stage, where they were just controlling and not actually teaching. So when the chance came, Alun took early retirement from teaching. Of course he still works in the same school, as a technician. No more stress! He's much happier now, so thats good.
I shall be glad to see this coming week over with, it's all hospitals and doctors starting on Tuesday. I'm hoping all goes well.
Well, I had better stop rattling on, and go and put the kettle on for a cuppa.
Love and best wishes, to you , Roly and your family.

Hi Sallie. My son never said if they gave him a special number to ring. Roly's eye is looking good,[ touch wood ]. He finishes one lot of eye drops on tuesday, but has to use the other ones, for another three weeks. I am just glad he is able to put them in himself. I am so glad you enjoyed yourself last night. Do you think,as I do,that the teachers seem to look so young these days. Mind you,it's a job I could not do I am afraid. I am a firm believer in the old ways of teaching, and I had respect for my teachers. These days a lot of pupils,do not realise how hard it can be on teachers. Our headmaster, was a lovely man,BUT, he ruled with the cane, and he used it many a time on those that deserved it. I can remember a time, when I had been caught playing truant. My mum went and saw the headmaster, and asked him to cane me. His responce was, under no circustances would he do it,as I was not what he classed as a bad child. And that my mum should look to the home environment. Oh dear, that did not go down well. Mind you,I was a handful at times. But I can look back on it now,and think why did I do the things I did. For attention I believe. Well, enough of my waffling again. Love to all. Mo xxx

Hi All, Mo, it's nice to hear that your grandson is feeling a bit better today. Did the doctor give your son a special number to ring? When I thought I had swine flu the other week, our doctor didn't come out, just told me to take panadol and plenty of cold drinks. He gave me a number to ring if I got worse.
Sue, hope you have a lovely holiday in Poole. Lets hope the weather will be good for you.
Alun and I really enjoyed the retirement do last night .It was lovely seeing everyone and being able to catch up on all their news. All us ' golden oldies ' sat together, and as you can imagine, we didn't stop talking. Although Alun still works in the school, he doesn't get much news now, as most of the teachers that taught with him, have now retired. There are not many older ones left there now. Several teachers, like Alun took early retirement, they had all had enough of teaching. They were saying last night, that it's the best thing that they have ever done.
How is Roly's eye doing, Mo? Sorry, I keep forgetting to ask you.
Speak soon.
Love, Sallie.xx
Hope the rest of the girls are all okay!
Best wishes,
Sallie.

I hope you have a nice break away Sue. It is so sad when the little one leave pre school, they seem to grow up so quickly when they start in mainstream schooling. My grandson is a lot better today,it may not be swine flu. The trouble is that when we start to feel unwell,we naturally think the worst don't we. And obviously, the emergency doctor would not come out,but said to keep an eye on him overnight, giving him paracetamol and plenty of cold drinks. Thank god he is feeling better,it seems to me that everything is happening at once. I hope you are all having a nice day. Our weather is lovely again today, plenty of sunshine, with a nice breeze. We are going to have a salad today,so no cooking for me, hooray. love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi all. I am really fed up. I had a phone call from my son, looks like my nine year old grandson has got swine flu. His friend at school went down with it earlier in the week, and they are closing his school as from monday. Oh Marilyn, you can't beat a lovely roast dinner. We don't have B.B.Q's as Roly wont eat them. He is afraid he will get food poisoning. Now me I love them,so when I get an invite to one I am there like a shot. The xray went o.k,thanks Sallie. He should get his results in about ten days time. I hope you enjoy the retirement do. You will have to let us know how it went. Thanks for the p.m Jean. I am glad you are well. A big hello to everyone else, and I hope you are all well. Speak to you again tommorrow, with further updates. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Just looking in to see how you all are-- hope all is well with everyone.
Mo, I hope Roly got on alright at the xray department. Will, he have to wait long for the result? Hope you are having a nice relaxing weekend.
Marilyn, I like a nice roast dinner. I don't mind a BBQ sometimes, but I would get fed up of them, if I had them too often.
I have to go and get ready to go out now. Speak to you all tomorrow,
Take care everyone!
Best wishes,
Sallie.

Sorry Mo, I thought that it was Carla's mum - my mistake. Quite agree with you all, Carla should have told her mum, if no one else. I hope Roly gets on alright tomorrow. My friend that goes into hospital on Tuesday for an operation, had an MRI scan on a Saturday - like you Mo, I didn't realise that they did xrays on a Saturday, except for emergencies.
Jean, it's nice to hear from you. I hope J is feeling better now. Alun took me to Hobbycraft earlier on, I wanted to get a couple of bits and bobs, so that I can get on with the scrapbook I am making for a birthday present.
Tomorrow morning I have to go up town, and then in the evening Alun and I are going to a retirement do. Before Alun retired from teaching, she was his Head of the Maths Department. I know her quite well, because every now and again, we all use to go out for a meal together. Most of them have retired from teaching now, and got other jobs. It will be nice to see the others tomorrow night!
Well, I hope you will enjoy the weekend.
Best wishes,
Sallie.

Hi everyone. It was daughter number three Sallie, not the mum of little miss naughty. We are agreed on the fact that she should have told her mum, even if she did not want the rest of us to know. Well girls,it's the weekend again. I can't believe how quickly they come round. Has anyone got anything exciting happening. I have to take Roly to get his xray done on his spine tommorrow. I did not realise that did them on Saturdays, but he has an appointment at 12.10. I wonder where our Jean has got to,we have not heard from her in a while. Whats the weather like where you all are? It has been quite nice here, not to hot,but dry. At least I got all the bedding dry. I hope to hear from you all soon. Love to all. Mo xxx

Hello All,
First of all, thank you for sending me your birthday wishes and cheers!
Marie, so pleased that you passed your memory test. I thought that it would all be alright. July is a good month to be born in. Happy Birthday to your son for the 11th.
Marilyn, I can see that you are still enjoying your holiday in the U.S. You're still managing to get a bit of time on your computer - it's nice to hear from you, and that you are having a lovely holiday.
Mo, hope your daughter was not quite so upset when she called round to see you. As you say, kids what can you do with them!
Hope everyone else is alright.
Speak to you all tomorrow.
Love, Sallie. xx

See,I told you,you were as sane as the rest of us mad lot Marie. No seriously,it's good news that you passed your memory test. News about my grandaughter now. My daughter had a phone call from my G.D's boyfriend, telling her that my G.D had been in to hospital, and had had the cells removed. The problem being,G.D had not told her mum, that she was going in. My daughter is very upset about it,but Grandaughter's reason for not telling her is,she was fed up of people asking her when she was going into hospital. Honest kids what would you do with them. She has now got to wait six weeks for her results. Oh oh got to go ,my daughter has just turned up. Speak to you all soon. Love to all Mo xxx

I hope you are still enjoying your holiday, and that the children are not wearing you out to much. I bet you are felling much better after your sleep,Huia. How is your O.H now? Is he sleeping ant better now. And is he still having his walks. Well girls,I will let you all in on a little secret. It's our Sallies birthday tommorrow. I hope you have a wonderful day Sallie, and don't forget,I am still older than you, and always will be. lol Roly is good today. His pupil is still dilated. He put his glasses on this morning, and had to take them off,as they were distorting his vision. It does seem strange seeing him without them. Still no news on my grandaughter. I am not sure if she is going into hospital tommorrow or not. I will let you all know as soon as I know. ~~~~~~~~~~~to all ~~~~~~~~~for our Jean and J xxx love Mo xxx

Hi MO & Jean and everyone else..
Oh MO I was just reading about your Granddaughter, I'm sure they will work on her real quick. Did you know I had Cervical Cancer 2yrs ago ? Well my tumor was 3ins in diameter and it had spread outside of the cervix, with 6 weeks of Radio therapy and Chemo. I survived that cancer. So MO do not worry the medical team in these cancer units of the second to none and they will treat your granddaughter well, and get her back to normal I'm sure of that. Its a shock to be told you have cancer, but a bigger one when told it has spread......So please don't worry, and tell her not to worry. Its so curable these days MO.
That said its bought it all back to me......but here I am on holiday ,and she will be too soon.
Take care all of you, just come in from the swimming pool .grand kids are knackered with too much swimming !!
