Coooooeeee anyone about. I hope everyone is well, and not wilting in the heat. I wish we would have a lovely storm,to clear the air a bit. A friend of mine, has had the sickness and trots, for three weeks. She had to do a sample, and we took her to see her doctor last Monday. We had to wait fifty minutes, before she got in to see the doctor. We sat in a stifling waiting room, with other patients, one of whom was a child. When my friend came out ,I asked her what the outcome was. Oh,said my friend, she told me I have got [ now get this ] C. DIFF. I nearly died of shock. How can a G.P allow a patient with this,to sit in a waiting room, with other patients, knowing how contageous it is. We came home, thoroughly washed ourselves, cleaned the inside of the car,and sat down shocked. I just hope to god, that we have not caught it. I phoned NHS direct, but they did not know much about it either. Love to you all Mo xxx

Oh crikey Sallie, you just take care of yourself. There are a lot's of cases of swine flu now isn't there. I hope and pray you continue to get well. Yes Sallie,Roly has his physio appointment tommorrow. And eye done on the 7th. We own scales Debbie, but I won't get on them,in case I get a big shock. I know that the nurse a the doctors, told me I had only put on a pound in five years, but I didnt dare ask her how much I actually weighed. I am pleased to hear that the family are well. The pool is a bonus in this weather ,and the children all love water don't they Debbie. Hi Huia,my mother board went a couple of months ago as well. But it was still under guarantee, thank god. But did I feel lost without it. We have taken out the insurance on it now,as the warranty has now run out. I hope you and your OH are well, and that you are managing to get some sleep. Has the decaff tea worked for him? It has come over really black here,so we may be in for some rain. Well I hope so,anyway. It has been really hot again today folks. I hope you are all well. ~~~~~~~~~~~to everyone. love Mo xxx

Hi All,
Jean, it's great to see J up and about , and that he is now able to drive. I hope your left leg will soon feel better - as you say, this humid weather doesn't help. I can't swim either Jean, I was always frightened of putting my face in the water.
Mo, I hope you are feeling okay. Is it the 9th that Roly has his eye op. Have you got an appointment somewhere tomorrow? I'm sure you said something about 2nd July - or I might have got it wrong.
Sue, nice to hear from you, and to know that all is well with you and your family.
I have had flu symptoms since Sunday evening, so rung the doctor yesterday, and he told me to isolate myself for three to four days, if I get worse I was to call the number he gave me. He said it might be Swine Flu, (or Mexican Flu as he called it ) I don't think it is, because I am feeling better than I was. So I hope that I will be able to go out on Friday.
Hope everyone else is alright.
Speak to you all soon. Take care!
Sallie.

Hi everyone, greetings from a very hot and muggy island. Even a huge thunderstorm last night hasn't really cleared the air. Anyway, better than constant rain or drizzle.
All well here. Busy as usual, though the weekend was not quite as hectic as sometimes. We bought a new pool last week as our old one had been patched up once too often. It is one of those above ground ones that you blow up the top rim and then it supports itself when you fill it with water. It is 12' diameter and 36"deep, so a good size for my 4 and all the friends who seem to appear regularly on the front door step:-))))
Daniel & Matthew had their school walk today - 14 miles of it. Daniel ran it last year so walked it today to spend time with his mates. They had a great time. Poor Matthew fell over on one of the gravel tracks and twisted his ankle so had to pull out. He was really disappointed as he was running well. He is ok though, just his pride that hurts.
I haven't walked this week so you fit people put me to shame. I don't own a set of scales, but know I need to lose weight when my clothes feel tight. Probably not the best way of measuring. Oh well............
Off to get a drink and have a read of the paper. The Island Games are on at the moment so there are a lot of reports and news to read there.
Hope you are all well. Thinking of you even if I don't post for a few days sometimes
Night night DEBBIE

MOkent, we had a terrific thunderstorm a couple of nights ago. I think that is what fried the motherboard in my computer :((( but is fixed now :)))
sue2sue, weight loss is extremely difficult. You start off losing several pounds and then the body say 'whoa, there is a famine' and starts conserving every little scrap of stuff that goes in. I am speaking from experience. Men dont seem to have the same problem. It is probably for the survival of the community. If only one man survives a famine but 20 women survive the community can be rebuilt but if only 1 woman and 20 men then apart from the fact that it would be more difficult for that one woman to rebuild but you would probably have war as the men would fight to be 'the one'! Thats my theory anyway. I think I have seen it in print from a scientist.

Good afternoon everyone. It's nice to hear from you again Sue,and I am glad you are well. We are still in the middle of the heatwave here. Yesterday was unbearably hot,so bad that I had to have a rest in the afternoon. And that's not like me. I hope you kept cool whilst out shopping Jean. It must make J feel better to be able to drive again, and get his independance back. You will both be able to nip of on holiday, very soon. There will be no holding you back now. Jean,Roly does not have his eye done till next week,on Thursday. Do you know what Jean,I learnt to swim when I was a child, but have not swum since about 1980, I am afraid now that if I got in a pool,I will sink to the bottom lol. From a beautiful sunny Kent,I will say cheerio for now. Take care all. Love and all the best to you all. Mo xxx

Hello, all, we have just been doing some shopping and other errands, J says although he is feeling a bit tired , not as bad as a few days ago. he also has no trouble driving, the nurses are still calling but now only every other day, my legs are still painful or I should say the left one, I am sure its bad circulation, probably carrying to much weight, not so easy to get it off at my age although I am still trying !! this heat doesnt help either, I love sunshine , but the humidity just saps your strengh...... what I really need is a change of scenery, so as soon as we can we will be off somewhere.
Mo, I had completly forgot about Rolys date for his eye op, so glad its over and done, Two regrets in my life, one not learning how to swim, and not keeping up with my driving, had a little bump when I first passed, and never drove again , that was many years ago, so now gave up my licence, so you keep at it gir l!!
love and hugs to you all Jean xx

Hi Everyone
I fine Sallie thanks for asking about me I have had my mum in law staying so we have been up chating at night so I havent been on line. Just read everyone posts and caught up on all the news.
The weather to day is really hot and tonight we had a shower but now it feels hotter. Had to get swimming pool out for little one and had to laugh when my eldest didnt watch where he was going and fell in (only his feet got wet).
Been out walking with my freind still trying to lose weight. Did 3lbs the first week but stayed the same this week. Not going to give up yet hopefully I will lose a few lbs over the next week.
Eldest has got a cricket match tomorrow, OH and youngest is going to watch but I have to work.
Glad everyone is alright , Marylin hope you have a great holiday with the grandchildren.

Hello girls. I hope you have all had a good day. Roly has his cattaract removed on the 7th of July,Jean. I think he will be glad to get it over and a done with now. The trouble is,it means I will have to do the driving for two weeks, and as I have not really driven much, since Roly retired,I am a bit nervous about it. But I daresay I will get my confidence back. Ooooh Jean, strawberries. We had some english ones earlier in the week. Tes--'s were giving away cream with them, they were really yummy. If they are still on offer tommorrow,I think I will buy some more. We had strawberry cheesecake for after dinner today, but not as nice as the real thing. We never got to go to the armed forces show Sallie. Our son phoned us early saturday morning, and asked if we could look after his two children. He only has them every other weekend. He runs a pub,and one of his barstaff had rung in sick, meaning he had no one to care for the children,as he had to work. We love to see the children, but we were really looking forward to going. Still that's what grandparents are for, or is it I do wonder sometimes. I am glad, you enjoyed your brothers ordination. It must have been a long day for you both. We had a really bad thunderstorm last night, the lightening was very frightening ,flashing across the sky and lighting the whole house up. Well I am going to get myself a nice cup of rosy lee. Speak again soon. Take care of yourselves. Love to all. Mo xxx

Hi All,
Hope J is feeling much better now! How are your legs Jean? I hope they are feeling a bit more comfortable and that you are managing to rest. I hope your daughter is keeping well, too!
Mo, I hope you had a good time at your local forces day.
Marilyn, Debbie, Marie and Sue hope all is well with you and your families, and that you all had a lovely weekend.
We had a lovely day yesterday, at my brother's ordination - but after such a long day, we are all very tired today!
Jennie seems to be doing fine on her new medication - she's not so tired, and is now able to eat all vegatables and fruit, without having any pain. She's always loved lots of fruit and veg, so she's really happy that she can now eat them all again without having any problems.
I'll speak to you all tomorrow.
Good wishes to you all. Take care!
Sallie

Yes Debbie it is chatham dockyard. Roly used to work there, years ago, before they decided to shut it down. If you saw it now you would not recognise it Debbie. They have an outlet centre there, and a Dickens centre. It is good to hear from Marilyn again. I hope it goes well for her tommorrow And that she enjoys her trip to America. You must be really proud of your family Sallie. Thank you for answering my question. Do not worry yourself about the hearing aids Jean. After a while you won't even know you have got them in. Apart from hearing people better. And wearing your hair short is great in this weather. I also keep my hair short,in fact I had it cut yesterday, and it is now about one inch all over, apart from my fringe that is,I have got to hide the wrinkles some how. It's just wash and go,no more waiting for it to dry. Well girls I will talk to you again, tommorrow night. Goodnight one and all.

Sorry, I really am like the bad penny!
Debbie, just wanted to say well done to Daniel for coming first and third. Also, congratululations and well done to the Jersey team for beating Guernsey. I bet you are all thrilled to bits!
Our family were either Congregationalists and Baptists, as there were so many of the churches closing, my brother and sister-in-law, decided to join the Angligan Church, and it's just gone on from there. Hubby's sister changed from the Angligan Church to the Methodist Church. She became a Methodist Minister in Yorkshire, three years ago. They put me to shame!
I'm now going to make myself a nice cup of tea, before having a shower.
Bye for now,
Sallie.

Hi All, I survived the afternoon. Daniel got a 1st & 3rd place so was happy with that. But best of all Jersey beat Guernsey in all age groups, so we were overall winners :-)) The little 2 enjoyed their Sports Day, and all 4 children are absolutely exhausted now. Early to bed for them tonight.
Jean, I hope all your appointments went ok. I'm sorry to hear that your legs still aren't much better. Fingers crossed for a more positive outcome. Hope J is responding well to the new Antibiotics.
Marilyn, have a fantastic trip. How old are your grandchildren and where abouts are you travelling to? So many questions, you'll have to fill us all in when you get back. Safe travels.
Sallie, good luck for your trip to Wales. I wish your brother all the very best. I have an uncle who is a Methodist Minister and finds the work so fulfilling. It must be wonderful to be blessed with such a vocation to the exclusion of all others. Good luck.
Mo, is it Chatham Docks you are going to be visiting? We have relations in Gravesend, so the year they didn't take us to Duxford, we went to Chatham. A fantastic place to visit.
Anyway, am off now for the evening. Night to you all, sleep well in this heat.

Hello All,
I'm like the bad penny today!
Lovely to hear from you Marilyn, hope all goes well with blood tests and check-ups tomorrow!
Mo, my brother has done a few jobs in his time, when he left school he did a five year apprenticeship as an electrician, he then joined the police force and was there for most of his working life. For a number of years he did some lay preaching. Both him and my sister-in-law joined a new church, a few of the clergy from that church and churches round the area, then encouraged him to train to become a Priest.
So, two years ago at the grand old age of 58, he started his training in Cardiff. This time last year he was ordained as a Deacon - and on Saturday will be ordained as a Priest. We are all very proud of him, he has worked hard over the last two years, he has done well, given his age. He is now nearly sixty one!
And Mo, I didn't mind you asking at all, it's nice that you are interested!
Jean, sorry I forgot to ask how your eye test went - hope everything was alright.
Speak soon.
Sallie.
