Hello Everyone,

Mo, it would take a lot more than what you said to offend me - as Debbie
pointed out it is nice to have Cyber Friends. I hope you are enjoying the hot weather Mo - I'm afraid I don't like it very much. It was nicer here yesterday, breezier than today, so it was a bit more comfortable.
Did R manage to finish cut the hedge? Both hubby and I had to laugh when we read it.

Debbie, you reminded me of when my two were in primary school, there were a few of us that looked out for each others children. It made life a lot easier for us all.
How is your sister getting on Debbie? Hope things are alright for her.
Good luck to your boys - hope they do well in the competitions!

Marilyn, I'm pleased you are feeling better now - I wondered where you were, thought you might have been away. Hope you enjoyed your day with your visitors from London.

Sue, hope the weather will be nice for your trip to the zoo at the weekend.
Hope you all have a good time.

Jean, how is hubby since he's home? I hope you are both okay.
Thinking of you both - take care!

Best wishes to you all.

Sallie.

Hi All, no Mo, I am not at all offended by your comments. It is actually lovely to have this Cyber Contact, without any of the pressures of "normal life". I enjoy hearing what people have been up, not in a nosey way, just out of interest. I sometimes try to picture a person or guess their age. Easier said than done!!

I've had a lovely day. Shopping thismorning wasn't as bad as usual, so got round the supermarket and home quite quickly. Stil wondering how I managed to spend so much money in such a short space of time though.

Thisafternoon I have spent my time at the Athletics track. The eldest 2 are doing Individual Competitions this week so I am setting up camp there. I have called in a few favours and managed to Farm the little two out after school each day so that I can concentrate on the older ones.

We have an excellent network of parents at the Primary School and we all help each other out as much as we can. That way nobody feels guilty asking another for assistance. I've probably taken advantage this week asking for 3 days help from various people. but I know I'll be asked back at some point for help, so I don't really mind.

The boys have done well in their running today, it's jumping and throwing tomorrow and then finals of everything on Thursday.

Gotta go, and get the little ones into bed. Night all.

Thinking of you all.

Welcome back Marilyn.
Sorry to hear you have not been feeling to good. Hopefully this fine weather will make you feel better.
You seem to have an open house for eveyone. Right girls all round to Marilyns for dinner soon o.k. lol.
I am trying to keep this thread going,so that we can all have conversations with each other Marilyn. And to keep in contact with Jean, and all our cyber friends on here.
We all realise this is not the real world, unlike some folk on other threads.
Ooooops perhaps I should not say that, but we all have time for each other,
and patience and understanding. I hope no one is offended by what I am saying.
Well it looks like our lovely weather is about to break, what a shame. We
just get used to it,and it vanishes.
Coooeeee Jean,I hope you and J are still well, and not melting in the heat.
Love and best wishes to all. Mo xxx

Such good news Jean. I don't know if you have read Jean's update thread girls, but J is home now,and is recovering well.
This is where the hard work starts now Jean. Stay strong lovely lady,we are here for you. And get some rest whenever you can.
I shall never forget one holiday we had, when we stayed in a chalet, right on the coastline. We were woken early every morning,by sea gulls doing
a clog dance on the roof. We had all gone as a family and had six chalets, between us. It was so funny because at five in the morning we would see each other peeping round the curtains, cursing the birds.
Thats your fault for reminding me Debbie, talking about the birds waking you up.
Mind you I suppose we were lucky,we only had to put up with it while we were on holiday, you have it all the time don't you Debbie.
I say Sallie, don't mention ironing on a day like today. It was to warm to do that.
We decided early this morning to cut the hedge, between our house and next door. It's their hedge, but he is a lazy so and so,and leaves it all to her.
But it had got a bit out of hand. So we have this brand new hedge trimmer,
Roly is gaily cutting away, when it stops working. Oh says himself,it's overheated and cut out. When I looked, that was not the case,he had cut through the cable. So he spent ages repairing it,and started again, and guess what,he only went and cut through it again. What a doughnut,I don't know whereI got him from sometimes.
I am going now that I have bored you all to tears. Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi all, just popping in to say "Hello" before I pick up the little 2 from their Rugby & Fit Kids classes at 4.

Oh Sue, I hope the dentist went well. We always have a dental session during school holidays. So aren't due the next 6 monthly check ups until the Christmas break now. All sorted last week during half term. Hope your visit went without too much drama.

A beautiful weekend here. We took the children to the Junior Fishing Competition yesterday. 4 Hours in the sunshine watching nothing get caught, but we all had a great day out and it was nice to do something as a family. My youngest won a prize though, for being the youngest competitor, at the age of 6. She won a new reel for her rod, though it is so heavy I think it would tip her over the side of the breakwater if we put it on her rod.

I'm lucky not to be married to a snorer, by the sounds of things. My OH does have the occasional grunt but does not snore. Bad enough with the birds waking us up at 4.15am without being kept awake during the night by another noise.

I hope that you are all fit and well, and that Jean & J are managing ok. Hope your ankles are less swollen, Jean. Take it easy.

Hi everyone.
I haven't been on for a couple of days - hope you are all well and enjoying our lovely weather.

Mo and Sue, I know how you feel when you say about your hubbys snoring, mine is just the same. Like you Sue, I tell him to turn over, although I must say that it's usually a few times through the night.

Mo, have you had anymore news about Jean's hubby, J? I've read her update from yesterday morning, just wondered if you've had any news since then.

Sue, hope your trip to the dentist went well, and that none of you needed any treatment.

Well ladies, I must go and finish the ironing before hubby gets home

Speak to you all later.
Sallie.

Oh Sue,if only the turning over of my OH had worked. I tried everything,I put a peg on his nose once, did it work no. I even found one night,That I had the pillow over his head, trying to shut him up,not even realising that I
could have suffocated him. I got to the point of sleeping on the sofa,to get some kip,it was so frustrating.
I hope you got on o.k at the dentists, and that the rain hold of for your trip to the zoo.
I do hope everyone is well, and still enjoying the sunshine. Make the most of it,as supposedly we are due rain by wednesday.
Love to you all. Mo xxx

Hi All

Glad to read everyone is well.

Great weather we are having been in the garden playing with youngest most days, even got my teenager out from his room to enjoy the sun.
He spends his life on his x box talking with his mates. I have to make him arrange to go up the park for a kick around.

Training day from school today so have booked a family trip to the dentist ( Hopefully youngset will show his teeth this time).

Going for a family day out at the zoo at the weekend as I have got a day off.
Little one has never been so doing a picnic hope the weather keeps nice.
Eldest isnt looking forward to it but hard to do things we all like when the age gap is so big. Never mind sure he will get what he wants next time, he might even have fun.

Mo you make me laugh with your Husbands snoring , mine is just the same and when the children leave home we will have a room each. Not that I ready to let go to my kids yet. Just keep telling OH to turn over.

Bye to all Sue

Oh Jean, what good news about J,I am sooooo pleased for you.
As Debbie said, elevate your feet, and get some rest. I dont suppose this hot weather will do your feet much good either.
Strip of to your bikini, get in the hammock and relax. Good grief listen to me,the sun would definately go in, in fright if I was to put a bikini on. In fact
I have never worn one,I was never that brave. lol
To answer your curiosity Jean,we have seperate beds, both double beds
with kingsize quilts,in different rooms. Roly can snore for England, hence the seperate rooms. At least that way,we both get a good nights sleep.
But I can honestly say,I had never heard of super kingsize. I was just so glad Roly was with me that day,as I could not keep a straight face,my mind was really working overtime, with that womans six inches, naughty me.
I love car booties Debbie. You can get such good bargains there. Especially plants that people grow from seedlings.
I must say your family sound wonderful. They sound like they can entertain themselves very well,on their own,and not have to resort to game
stations all the time.
Hello to you Sallie,if you are looking in.
Well girls,I will love you and leave you for now,it's chinese for dinner,so I am just going to tuck in. Love to all. Mo xxx

Morning All, Jean, it's great to hear such positive news from the Hospital. Fingers crossed for continued progress. Look after those aching feet of yours, keep them elevated whenever you can and also a soak in warm water can help wonders. It also means that you have to sit and do nothing for a while. Bliss :-))

Mo, we use Super King Sized bedding. We have a King sized bed and like to make sure we are well tucked in and covered so we use bedding the size larger. A friend of mine actually has a super king sized bed, but I wouldn't go to that extreme. Our King size is adequate, even with all the children bouncing around on it first thing in the morning. I have always used bedding a size up from the size of the bed, to ensure "all round coverage" Lovely in the winter.

All well here today. Been to a car boot and bought new puzzles for the little ones, going to get new fishing gear and bait now as there is a Junior Angling competition tomorrow, which all the children want to enter. Daniel did well on his trip to the castle yesterday and caught quite a lot of different fish. A good experience and keeps the youngsters off the streets.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Morning peeps, sunshine at last !!!! love it... but , theres always a but......my flippin feet are like two footballs, never had swollen ankles before the water tabs work but with going to the hospital twice a day, is begining to tell its toll, last night I was so tired I could hardly walk, so I am not going this afternoon daughter and grandson are doing the visit...... J is doing really well, he can now get into the bathroom, with all the trailing wires and stuff, they are going to divest him of some today.....he has also been allowed 1/2 cup of water, no foods as yet, so if theres is no side effects, he may get some soup today,,, and.....if he continues improving may come home end of next week !!!!!!!!! my loony daughter took photos of him in all his regalia, so he can see what he looked like ..ugh......

Debbie your young folk seem so talented , it must be lovely watching them and hearing of there activities, J was a very good athlete in his younger days, champion boy at high jump and track events,I used to go and watch, he looked so fit in his little shorts ROFL !!!!

Sallie,Thank you for your support and love, hope all is well with you....

And, My friend Mo, what are you like , my mind is working overtime, wondering are two beds in one room and how big are they super king size, never heard of that lol, You should have accidently bumped into her on the way out or at least stood on her foot.....better go or this will get whoosed...take care all.

love Jean xx

Mo in Kent Report 29 May 2009 19:43

Evening all,how are we this lovely summers evening. What a lovely day we have had again.
I hope the boys got back safe from their adventure,at the castle in the sea.
You have made me think of Enid Blyton, and her adventures of the famous five books. Oh they were the days, young free and not a care in the world.
I know one thing, and that is that the children seem to have more holidays nowadays, than we did when young. But the authorities changed the school term times didn't they Debbie?
Thank goodness for the clubs that go on during the holidays for the children. Some of my grandchildren attend them, and have a great time there.
There has been no news from Jean today yet, about how J is. So I am thinking no news is good news.
I made a big boo boo, yesterday. We went to buy two new quilt covers, and
they had a size I had never heard of before, super kingsize. So I asked the
assisstant what the difference is between,a king size and a super kingsize
And her responce, quite straight faced was,six inches, and she just walked away. Now I might appear to be thick, but I had never even heard of
a quilt cover that size before. And that woman was so condescending,I felt
a real fool for asking.
We were taught that the customer is always right, even when they were wrong, and to be polite and civil to everyone. But hey times they are a changing.
Well girls,I hope you are all well, and I will speak to you again soon. Love Mo xxx

Moring All, I hope everybody is fit and well and enjoying the same glorious weather that we are having at the moment.

Jean, it's lovely to hear that J came through his op successfully. Now you need to get your strength up in order to be able to help him when he gets home. Take care, the pair of you.

Half Term has passed quickly and reasonably uneventfully. My eldest has been fishing every day. Today he and 3 friends are on a castle in the sea. They walked over the causeway at low tide at 6am, and won't be able to get back until the tide starts going down again later thisafternoon. They have taken a small BBQ and already cooked sausages for their breakfast.

The youngest 2 are on a Sports course all week, and coming home every day thoroughly exhausted but happy. And my other son has spent time with me and out cycling with his firends. He is going to some jumps on his bike today with a crowd from school.

So all well in this household. Hope you all are too. Best wishes to everyone.

Hello Jean, thank you for the update. I am glad J is showing signs of improvement.
We have not heard from Marie in ages, but she now goes on Face book. As
if I remember correctly, she told me,a member of her family set it up for her.
I personally,do not go on that site,so am unable to contact her that way.
I hope you have a lovely rest tonight,to build your strength up for when J comes home. Take care.
I hope everyone is well. Thanks for adding Sylvia, and keeping the thread
