Hi all, a good morning to you all, my OH has just gone to bed so I suppose I will have to go soon otherwise I wont get much sleep before he wakes my up. It is only 8.38 in the evening and he has been asleep on the settee for the past hour. He insists he doesnt bring me cups of tea at 2 or 3 in the morning. Huia.

Morning All,
Not such a good day today, wet & dull just hoping the sun might peep out sometime today !
Jean I love aster flowers they remind me of when I was young we always had them in our garden , especially the purple ones. I cant seem to grow them where I live ,I think they don't like the salt in the sea near me. But I have some Sweet peas in tubs which I have placed near my garden bench so I can whiff the smell on a summers evening ..LOL
Hi, to MO, Sallie, Huia,, Sue2Sue, Debbie, and anyone that I have forgotten . your the ones on this page !! LOL

Hi there Mo & Sallie.
Bottlebrush: Callistemon (several varieties), a member of the Mytrle family. A family of evergreen shrubs or small trees. Flowers attract birds. Bark is often papery. Frost to half hardy. Prefers full sun and moist but well drained soil. Many species will tolerate poorly drained even boggy conditions. Prune flower heads before they turn to seed.
Any help?
Huia.

Hi Mo and Everyone,
Yes Mo, like you I wondered where you had all got to. I've had a bit of a cold, the usual headache and aches and pains, nothing that a couple of Panadol couldn't cure.
Jean, I hope all will go well with your hubby's operation, please wish him all the best from me.
Mo, I know the plant you mean, but I'm sorry I don't know anything about it.
I hope everyone is well. Speak to you all soon.
Best wishes, Sallie.

good evening ladies. How are we all today? It's been very quiet on here for a couple of days now. Where has everyone got to. It's not the holiday season is it? Has any one heard of a plant called,a bottle brush. I bought one today, and I wondered if anyone has had success with one. The actual flower is red, and looks like a bottle brush, obviously hence it's name. I have planted 14 perennials, this year. So I am hoping I will have a better display, next year. I am presuming, that the plant I bought today,is a perennial,as it had lost it's label, and it's kind of a stab in the dark for me. Hope you and J are well Jean. Love and best wishes Mo xxx

Good evening one and all. So glad you enjoyed your anniversary Marilyn. I enjoy fish and chips myself. Just think how much your kitchen table and chairs, would cost you to buy them now. It's unthinkable really. I am glad your son enjoyed his table tennis set,Sue. I know what you felt, when you received the photograph,of your great grandfathers grave. Shelly,on this site, sent me two of both my grandparents graves. She does a lot of research,in the graveyards in her area. She is a diamond,as these memories are a things we would never be able to find,on our own. Not knowing exactly where and when they passed away. I know we can find out a lot of information ourselves, but travelling to find the graves,is not always possible. Oh Debbie,I do hope the winds have dropped a bit, where you are. We have still got high winds here, but I doubt that they are as high as yours. The rain is due to start here, tonight. So I have not watered the garden tonight,so for once I hope they are right, with the weather forecast. I hope J is o.k today Jean, and not in to much discomfort. Love and all my best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Hi All. Just so that you don't think we live on a tropical Island here, you may like to know that we have had the most awful weather during the last 24 hours, and no sign of the rain stopping yet. The wind is unbelievably strong and all the boats are cancelled for the 2nd day.
Other than that, we are all well here.
Jean I am so pleased things weren't as bad as you thought they could have been at the hospital. When you have to wait a while for things, the imagination does go into overdrive sometimes, doesn't it?
My Dad had a stroke at the start of the year and we all thought so many bad things could happen. It really is the not knowing that can be so dangerous. Thankfully he is back at home, though a shadow of his former self and now very slow. We are so lucky that Mum is around to look after him. I am one of 4 and we all do our bit to help out but sometimes it is difficult with families of our own, and the responsibility falls onto Mums shoulders.
Anyway, life goes on and we must all make what we can of it. You never know what is around the next corner - that is why my Cup is always Half Full. You can't dwell on what you can't change.
Hope you all have an enjoyable afternoon. I've got to do some bits'n'bobs before I fetch the children from school, so cheerio for now.
DEBBIE

Good morning friends,Well I slept so much better last night, its like you are in a hurdle race, when you wait for results and deadlines, you get over one then another is right in front of you, and they seem to get higher as you carry on.....
I am getting now I shall either crawl under or walk round them lol.one thing I have learnt, time never stands still, so onwards and upwards....... what I long for now is a long period of warm sunshine better than any medicines....We love taking a picnic and chairs to sit out usually beside a stream, the noise of water is so soothing.mmmm I am there already..... Back to reality, off to sort the washing out then face the shopping !!! (whoops dont know what happened there I never know how to move the writing back up)....have a good day take care out there....
Love to everyone Jean xx.

Hello All
Glad everything at the hospital worked out better than you both thought Jean. Hope you can both relax a little before next months op. Lets hope we get some nice weather and you can get away.
Eldest Son had his birthday and loved the table tennis table. Played it a lot all ready, great family fun even if he beats me everytime. He also is playing cricket at school and enjoying him self. So maybe he will get on all right without his football.
Hope you had a good birthday Marie.
Just had a photo sent to me by someone I got in contact with via genes. It Is a war grave for my great grandfather. My Mum never knew him. She lost her Mum at the age of 4 and her dad at the age of 5 then was brought up in care. It is a funny thing doing research I know more about my mums family then she every did. It is nice when people send you things to do with your tree.
Glad to read you are well now Mo.
Take care all. Sue

Thanks Jean & MO,
We didn't do anything special if fact we had fish & chips and mushy peas !!! We did enjoy it......flowed with wine .LOL
After all these years I still remember THE day...We paid 11/6 per head for 40 guests, and when I look back, I just wonder how we did it. My parents gave us £30 and we bought Kitchen table & chairs. So as my parents had 4 children that's all she could afford . So we had to pay for the wedding. I can remember we only had £5 to last until the next wage day ...LOL
But here we are still together, but much better off and spoil ourselves with lots of holidays . Jean I hope hubby is not to worried about that op..what has to be done has to be done !!. Going to watch the telly now. Marilyn xxx

Debbie, both the boys did exceptionally well. Daniel with his medals for effort, and Matthew for his personal best. Now that Matthew has his times,he can only get better,as he has something to aim for. Tell them both well done from me. I am wondering how Jeans husband got on,as we have not heard from her yet today. And I hope Marie, that you had a lovely birthday. Love and all the best to you all. Morning All. Thought I would log in early today as I am up and about already. The strong wind outside woke me early and I've managed to get quite a lot done thismorning. Jean, thinking of you today. I hope all goes well with the Hospital. Marie, you are probably at the end of your birthday now, but hope it was a good one.
The boys got back safely last night from their athletics. Daniel did well and got Personal Bests in 1500m, 3000m and equalled his best in high jump, earning a medal for his efforts.
Matthew wasn't quite as lucky, but because this is his first season of competing, he got personal bests in everything as he had nothing to compare to. He managed well though and did, 100m, 800m, 1500m running and long jump.
They are both exhausted but really enjoyed the experience.
I hope everyone here has a great day. DEBBIE
