Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 9 Jun 2009 21:43

Thats the one Ann

Tires hardest to word this best I can :

I did find the story a bit creepy, however I thought the plot was excellent. The mother runs away marries her half Uncle, they didn’t meet till he was 17 and she 15. That was plausible. Given the age of the 2 oldest children and they were living like a family them playing the roles of Mother and Father also that fact they were going through puberty. That again I find plausible. However there are 4 books in that series and all bring incest with familiar characters you begin to think is V Andrews obsessed with the subject?

Hayley is that one of a strange series that I read many years ago abut children living in the attic and incest etc? It rings a bell.

Just finished Flowers in the attic....I fancy reading petals in the wind but think that V Andrews maybe has dragged the story on about, however I am about to start golden shadows which is about the Grandmother Olivia...

Berona and Keith you are welcome to join. Just put two book suggestions on the suggestion thread and we will be voting later today. Or, if you don't have any suggestions just vote for the ones we have. We have 6 weeks to read up to 2 books before we review them, I will put the review date on the vote result thread.

Angela, glad you are reading again, i hope your health soon improves.

Hi Ann, are you talking about your readers or GR in general?

I offered to join your readers ages ago but haven't been able to contribute so far - until now! Although I couldn't take part before I have always enjoyed reading the reviews.

Our numbers are declining, people have left genes who were members, others have reasons why they are not reading at the moment. It is better if we can recruit more people therefore I am putting up this thread to see if any 'old' members can re-join or any new members are interested. Theresa still is off line I think, she will rejoin when she gets back on, Maisie is on several holidays and will re-join later, Jill has suggested but wont be available to vote.
