I think Bridget if you inadvertently press reply instead of submit it deletes the message because it thinks you want to write another one.

I have just deleted, and not sure how, all that I have written this morning so only this short message this morning!!!!

Thank you everyone who has written messages this evening, Just arrived home and going to bed in a few minutes, we have had a great evening with the family present.

Bridget, good of them to consider you good enough for the job!

Tess, how sad your Mum didn't get to know the enjoyment she had led you to have. But how clever of her to know that you would absorb it and make good use of it. Clever Mum you had. Tere are a lot of people on these threads who do suffer from depression, some of whom are often on the anxieties and depressions thread. I always think the title of that thread makes it sound miserable but there are a lot of laughs and lighter moments on there as well as much support given.

Both my sister and I, when we saw our ancestors writing thought "I wish Mum could see this"
It was my Mum who taught me to email (when she was in her 80's) She also bought me the computer, whic has enabled me to do all the research. Unfortunately she died just a few weeks later, so she didn't get the full benefit of the enjoyment she gave me.

It has got lost somewhere, perhaps I clicked in the wrong place.
Anyway, I thanked you for sharing your sad times. I too have been really down. Although I feel, happy, lucky and contented, I sometimes can't stop depression rearing its ugly head.
I just tell myself that I have come through to the otherside of depression before and will do so again, and eventually it goes away.

I am sure that a lot of people on here must have "down" times. Having all these cyber friends, as well as people I can see face to face, is a big help.

Off to phone a cousin I met through genes.

Thank you for spending a special time each day for your thought time. A really wonderful idea, which must have helped a lot of people.

Bridget, enjoy your time with the family, and is little Roberta really an year old, the older one gets the faster time flies.

We are cyber friends of course Bridget, in my mind we have never not been, ever since we first started chatting on various threads.
I hope your interview went well for you, but 10 months, good job you are suitable isn't it? Bit late if you are not!

Do you know, I must be fortunate because I have never, ever felt that life was not worth living, sometimes it has been not so good but mostly my life has been wonderful (all almost 70 years of it). I guess I am one of the fortunate ones. I hope that life now continues to be good for you Bridget.

good morning again
I have been busy this morning, sending messages on various threads, looking at my hot matches, and then making sure that the spare bedroom is clean and tidy reay for my eldest stepson,his partner and theirone year old daughter roberta arriving this afternoon. Some of you may remember when Roberta was born a litte over a year ago and so many people commented on what a lovely name it is...doesn't time fly past?
I hope to be away from work around 4pm so that I can spend some time with them, they should arrive around 2pm and will be leaving in the morning.
When I first got up this morning I was surprised at the change in the weather. I could hardly see out of our windows due to such a heavy miist, it looks like a foggy November day. However I could still hear all the different bird songs even if I couldn't see them.
The sky is grey and the mist has started lifting and the drop in temperature is most definetley felt..
I made a coffee, and sat down on the settee and thought about all the people who have either contacted me or those who I have contacted and decided that it must have run ino hundreds over the years.
I tried to recall all those who are having difficult times for one reason or another and prayed, in my own fashion, that they have a t least some peace even if a situation cannot be resolved. It made me think about how simple and yet how complicated life can be and recalled the times in my life when I wondered if life was really worth living. On tw0 occassions I decided that it was not worth living but fortunatley for me I am still here and it was these experiences that lead me to have what I call my quiet time and positive thoughts.
Now how on earth did I reach the decision to share this information....! I cannot answer that question but my fingers simply flew onto the key board, miss spellings and all so I am not going to edit this message...
I am generally a content person now and send you all happy thoughts and wish you all a pleasing day

So pleased that you are thinking of adding a piece on here, selfishly your message made me feel that we fully understand each other, and are cyber friends again.
I have an Interview today to make sure thatI am a fit person to manage a care home...given that I have been in post for nearly 10 months I am appalled at the system. The person doing the interview sounded very pleasant when we spoke and I believe in what is taking place but the beaurocracy is way out of control

Tess, do you ever think about what our ancestors would say if they knew that we could read their signatures all this time afterwards.
Bridget, I look forward to reading people's thoughts. Actually I might have a piece I can add if I can locate it, I did do a piece somewhere on holidays.

Had a little nap before watching the football. I reckon a few people on here will be pleased with the result.
Looking forward to watching the game on Sunday. Plus the third place play-off on Saturday.
My sister came round yesterday to use my computer. It was good to see her. Was able to show her some of the Irish ancesters on 1901 +1911 census. What I find remarkable, is that the head of the family, (if they were able to write), signed the card/sheet with their details on. So we were able to see "the mark" of one great-grandmother; the signature of another and the signature of my grandfather (who died when my Mum was a few months old). It is marvellous to think that we are able to see (albeit on-line) a document that they had handled!

I think that the pollen count might be quite high, or at least the pollen near my home is having a good time irritating me.
Other than that I am well.

,Of course and I understand. The writing group is great and I have been working on my next piece which is very emotional for me and it is also helping me to come to terms with something.

This idea was simply to write about someting as a piece of fun and no in debth debate or critique

Anyway we enjoy your contributing on here so I for one am looking forward to any comments you wish to make.
Well I am off to bed soon so will say goodnight and as I drift off to sleep I shall be having my night time contemplation and then in the morning will add to BBS daily diary

Well thank you to everyone I think that it is clear that the holiday theme seems to suit most so off we go and tell our stories. Not sure if we should make judgements or simply enjoy reading each persons entry.
I will lleave this to you all who I now refer to as my cyber friends.

Of course if you want to write more than one story that is OK as well
