Hi guys im new here, had most of my family tree done back to 1700, I now want to find out about the people individualy...how do i do that? I have the address of my 2xgreat grandfather in 1911, he was a manager with a servant. How do I find out what he was a manager of? Thanks

That's a difficult one Sharon. I would suggest that the Kelly's directory, or something similar, might be helpful.

Something else has just occured to me. Ancestry have a lot of telephone listings online - that too might be helpful.

Hi Sharon, and welcome to GR Chat :)

You might be wise adding this to the Tips and Records message boards as well ... there are lots of helpful people over there with great advice.

A start for your grandad might be worth looking at trade directories .... such as Kellys ? think they might be available on ancestry if you have a subscription for there ?
