turn on.We had a power cut earlier and everything else seems to be back on alright.I am pressing on off button ...and nothing.

Jane, has the fuse in the plug gone, owing to the surge when the power came back on??.

Julia ,the fuse box looks ok,I didn't think of the plug .Thanks .I bet we don't have any spare fuses ,but hopefully that is what it is.

This might seem a silly question but, is the door closed properly or have tried it on another cycle? Try something else in the socket too.

Sorry to be so long getting back.Had to go and borrow a fuse from a friend.It is not the fuse!!!!!!.Am now going to take a load of washing to put in his machine and have a cold glass of wine.Bl***y thing.

I enjoyed the wine thanks Marion lol It was a bit hot sitting in the sun though.Mustn't complain.
As for the washing machine.....well ,I rang the shop where I bought it to see if they could tell me when I had it.They will get back to me ( I think it may still be under guarantee).Told me to ring my electric supplier which I have just done.They then gave me another number (Loss of energy peeps).That number no longer in use !!!.So rang this other one and they said Oh no ,you need to ring your household insurance people!!!!!!!!!!!.
I am hoping it is still under guarantee then I can just call them out and say it just is not turning on.I can explain about a power cut when they come.

It's too hot now ,so I will leave it until tomorrow when hopefully I will have cooled down a bit.

Now I feel an idiot....I bought the machine feb 2007.So i'm just a bit out lol.
Shall get on to insurance tomorrow.(I thought I had had it for about 12 months)

Maybe you forgot to press....'on' in the first place,or door wasnt closed propery.

Marion,nooooooooo ,I did all the right checks.Whether it has just reset itself I don't know. I will give it a whirl in the morning.
As you say at least I haven't called anyone out. lol
Tis strange and I don't know why it has suddenly switched on.Fingers crossed it stays that way now .

Maybe it jammed.

I think the power cut had knocked out the computer board for a while.We will see tomorrow.Keep things crossed Marion!!!!!!!!!
