sometimes it helps if you have to "branch" out in order to break down a wall x

So far I have resisted, although theirs one sibling of a great grandparent my whose parentage is questionable and I am tempted.

Luckily on a few branches I have ended up in contact with descendants of siblings so have swapped copies of certs for my branch with what they have for theirs, saved a small fortune doing this.

I do wish they would digitise them, then again maybe its not the best idea, considering how many more I would probably buy if it just took a click or two to get the information I want.

in the census for 1901 my grandfather was in his grandmothers household with two other children who were noted as grandchildren, so I sent for their birth certs and so learned they were infact his cousins. So Yes I do if I have any uncertainty but not generally

it reminded me of a puzzle i had
and i decided to take another look
as the tees vally index had been updated
i had often wondered why my dad
only one brother and no other siblings
and put this down to his dad been a sailor
away for long periods
i knew my grandmother had triplets
three girls that died preterm
so i checked again and found a sister who died age two
and a brother that i knew nothing of also who died young

No, I don't buy all the siblings certs.but I have usually got a record of their baptisms from parish registers when we've visited various record offices.
Often I've got marriage information in the same way, for families who 'stayed put'.

I wonder if the price of certs was halved, would people actually order more.
Somehow I can justify buying certs at £3.50, more than I can at £7 a throw, so in the long haul, I'd have ordered a lot more. Meaning, also, that the GRO and records offices would make a lot more money.
Does that make sense?

No, just couldn't afford it. Sometimes I'm forced to for the information or to prove identity but mostly I have to rely on BMDs, census and wills and of course PRs.

and when he asks what this one for
i say
ooooh that was some make up i needed
he falls far it every time
even when i ordered 10 at a time bless him

So yes, i order their certs if i need them as confirmation for one thing or another. Unfortunately I can't afford to get them just to collect them!!! I wish!! LOL.

No. At the moment I'm only interested in the direct line.

I tend to be the same as Allan except for one of my grandparent's siblings who died very young and I was curious.
