Does anyone know how to obtain a US phone number?

We would like to contact a friend who is staying with her daughter in Texas, US. We have the daughter's address but not her phone number.

Anyone know how I can get it?

I know there is an international directory service from BT but it appears to be very expensive!

I've done that and the person is listed but doesn't give the phone number! Only the address & zip code.

Hi,
No, I just tried a random one to see what happened
Googled 'Texas telephone directory'
and it came up so thought it would be worth it for whatever state you need.
