Thanks for nudging your thread, apologies for not replying earlier.

We arrived last thursday afternoon and since last week friday evening I spent most of the time sleeping on and off as I could not shake a terrible headache, a mixture of this infernal heat wave and jetlag me thinks.

I am so glad that everyone enjoyed their postcards, I know that they are old but the place is exactly as seen in the postcard.

I should have packed my everyday clothes which is no different to what everyone else was wearing. I went into the village and at the local outdoors market bought a few bright floral print shorts and tops that don't match, and so fitted in with the rest of the population, except for my very pale skin....lol.. I do have a beautiful golden tan except for the back of my arms and legs. Although it was terribly humid the sun was not as harsh as ours so I had no problem lying on the sundeck with a bottle of sun block, the permanent wind for the ocean helped and we were very lucky with the weather as it rained every evening but not during the day. Nobody really dressed for dinner but wore casual clothes except for the honeymoon couples, they stuck out a mile.

Most evenings we had a light dinner at the pool bar as it was so much nicer then a hot buffet every evening. Battling to adjust to the time change we would retire early, so did not partake in the evenings entertainment which kicked of at 21:30, and would be up before dawn.

A wonderful holiday, which we hope to repeat again in a couple of years time. Although, next time we will stay at a boarding house/bed and breakfast, which have chalets on the beach that I believe is also owned by the hotel owners. It would be cheaper and we could stay longer.

Hi all, I got my card yesterday and it looks a gorgeous place. Won't do for us two Dutch as she says it's impossible to keep dry, and it's 'no good putting any lippy on as it won't go on, lol.'
Certainly enjoying herself.

I also received a card from Lindy. She said she was drinking a pina colada from a coconut. Staying in a tropical setting all nationalities. Everyone friendly. Life is great. The card is a view of a long beach, which I thought had lots of people on it. When I put my glasses on, some of "them" were the post mark lol.

Good Morning Purple, you have answered a question for me. I nearly put up on the board as to Lindy's whereabouts. I had corresponded with her recently about the South African plant the Protea, and realised the other day that I had not seen her of late. Well, I hope she is enjoying herself and having plenty of the good life

I had a lovely postcard from Lindy yesterday from Brazil - I think she is enjoying herself lol
Card says the bungalows are all identical and the numbers are too tiny to read at night, the lighting in the gardens is hidden by gigantic leaves, so she gets lost all the time and walks miles lol
Can you just imagine her walking into the wrong 'house' lol?
Not sure how many drinks she had drunk but said she was writing cards and reading, sitting in a "Gabezo", yes that's how she spelled it, but she was drinking a coconut drink laced with rum - being waited on hand and foot, and said she could get used to that sort of life, couldn't we all Lindy lol?
She was admiring the young girls in their bright clothing with flowers in their hair and said she had packed all the wrong clothes so is living in her cossy - bless!

I am not sure how long Lindy is away for, but the card was postmarked the 12th so only took a week, that's pretty good don't you think?
