Had a very brief chat with a professional genealogist I met about the fact that I couldn't find the birth of my grandfather in 1881, registered anywhere. |

Vaccination records were kept in the 19th century. Contact the records office for the area you are interested in to see if they hold them. |

Vaccination registers give the name of the child, the name and address of the mother or father or other person in charge of the child, the date of vaccination and the age of the child at the time of vaccination. Some of these registers date back to the 1860s for some Poor law Unions. |

I think so, but not sure. I remember a friend looking for them years ago in Berkshire, but unfortunately the years she needed were missing! That particular ancestor remains elusive lol!!! |
