Is there anyone out there who has this condition? This is a very rare disease and may help clear up a family tree mystery!!! I appreciate that personal stuff like this is sensative, but you could always use an alias if you get in touch.
I need this to be confined to the South Shields/Jarrow area please, for now anyway.
your help would be appreciated regards Marguerita

Marguerita

I do know about this condition but not because we have this within my family.
As you say it is rare and therefor I have taken the liberty to put a short description on this thred, if you wish to delete it please do so.

Spinocerebeller Ataxia type 6
is a Rare condition and genetic testing is available. Typically it affects adults usually between the age of 40 to 60, there are always variations. It affects Gait, Limb Co-ordination, Dysphagia and visual disturbance and many other functions.

There is a lot of reseach about this condition and if anyone does have this within their family it would help the research to move forward.

If you do have this in your family and do not want it on this thread you could send your message direct to Marguerita by clicking on her name
