As a traffic cop approached the car he could see the driver with a dog on the front passenger seat. As he neared the car he saw the driver strike the dog on the head - "What on earth did you do that for?" he asked

The driver replied "Because he just swallowed my tax disc"

I'd join you ... if I knew what a tax disc was ...

A tax disc is the little piece of paper you stick on your car windscreen to signify that you have paid for road tax for the year - now don't tell me you don't have those in Canada!

I have a sticker that goes on my licence plate. Except the last one is from 2007, when I the registration (your "tax") and emissions test (my year) and insurance were all due at once, and I thought, y'know what? taxis are cheaper.

Also because of the eye worm problem -- I'd just had the second cataract surgery that went so hideously wrong and I'm having surgery to fix next month, having finally got it together to get a new ophthalmologist and insist on the referral to the retinal surgeon he didn't think would be able to do anything. The retinal surgeon took one look and gave me a surgery date. And I am going to be a mass of quivering jelly by the time it gets here. The cataract surgery was torture enough. Having that redone, plus scar tissue removed from my retina, plus the vitreous drained and replaced with fake vitreous while it replaces itself ... if they don't hit me with elephant tranqs, they are going to be very sorry!

So now I get the joke. I was envisioning a 3.5 floppy ...

After the policeman had left, the guy parked up and took the dog into a pub. He ordered 2 pints of beer, the barman looked at the dog strangely but served the 2 drinks, saying "that will be £8.00 please". The guy paid, took a sip of his beer and the dog lapped some of his. The barman said, "we don't get many dogs drinking in here".
The dog said, "at £4 a pint I don't suppose you do". BOOM BOOM!
