Yes my cousin had one fitted after being told due her diabetes getting so bad because of her weight she would not live to be 35.

She has now more than halved her weight and no longer needs medication for her diabetes.

Its a very big decision to make and not one to be taken lightly but I think in my cousins case it was the right choice as her children now have a healthier happier mum who can do so much more with them.

I don't normally come over to this board - so Hello.

Has anyone had or now anyone who's had a Gastric Band?

I seriously thinking about it and going to talk to a consultant this week.
