Hi Annina ( Gardening book owner!)

Glad I'm not alone. members kindly give access to their trees - but no very large trees will open! Grunts groans and 'races for the canopy' for about 10 mins then locks up whole programme. No help at all aye?

By the way, I did not ask to see his tree, but asked for information about a person in it. He sent me his tree to view. I have found that, on the few occassions I have asked about a person, and they send their entire tree, they know very little if anything about the person I have enquired about, because they are merely a number. I am afraid I like meat on the bones, and have been able to do this with all my rellies. It really is more about quality, than quantity for me.

I have looked at someones tree that has over 51,000 entries on it, and still growing. I only looked at the section with my rellies on it and that was enough. He had not got all of them, and did not go back any further than I was at that time.
I am now in a position to go back a little further, but I am not sharing it with him, not through meaness, but because it has been such a hard slog, and if he wants to go further back, then he will jolly well have to work at it the same as I did, and not crib it off of me. Not to say anything about the cost involved.

Sounds like the plank who tried to steal my tree! during a GR 'glitch' my tree opened to him. Fortunately I realised after a short while and he's now got most of the DOB's and places of birth wrong.
According to 'Hot matches' he's more related to me than my mother - and - believe it or not - he's not related to me in any way - he wanted info on my dad's stepfather, who didn't even have much input into dad's life as dad was adopted at 14!!

Yes it is Peter, but not all there own work.Perhaps a lot copied from other members that have opened there tree. Also probably not all checked out so the tree somewhere is not running true.I would not take any info from a tree that large as i would not have the time to check it lol annie
