Have you looked on the 1911 census for the other members of the family?

EDIT - the delete was me - it posted twice!

Don't know if this will help, or give you contacts who can help.

There's a possible marriage of Emily Burnham to Thomas Parsons in 1906.

Nellie Parsons MMN Burnham was born in Cardiff district in 1912 and appears on several trees on this site. The contacts might know what happened to Louisa.

Was Louisa married twice? Are the Burnham children hers?

Janice

Have you found a marriage for Louisa to Frank Stone? I can't find one.

However I have found a marriage of a Louisa Burnham in 1909 reg'd in Cardiff!! Do you think she may have remarried rather than died?

Linda

Linda Report 24 Aug 2009 11:31

this is all getting very confusing, perhaps she did,nt marry frank stone then, so do you think she may have married yet again, what a lady !!!

Janice

Janice Report 24 Aug 2009 11:36

Don't know. Jumping to conclusions here!! The 1901 says she is Louisa Stone wife of Frank, but I can't find a marriage - can you?

A marriage in 1909 to someone who wasn't prepared to take on Frank would explain why he was sent away. We don't know it was actually her though without the cert. Have you got any certs or proof of what happened to Frank?

Also, what happened to Frank senior?

Linda

Linda Report 24 Aug 2009 11:42

No Janice I can,t find a marriage certificate either, also I don,t knw when frank senior died, but would really like to know as to why he a=was put into orphange and circumstances surrounfing this.

Janice

Janice Report 24 Aug 2009 11:51

If you can afford to splash out on random certificates, I would order the marriage cert of Louisa Burnham in 1909 and find out if it is the same person. If you have her first marriage you'll know her father's name as a check. Also you know she has been married before so that could be used as a check too.

If it is her, you'll have a possible reason for Frank being sent away. I would get the 1911 image for the Frank Stone in an institution and then you'll know where exactly he was sent to and can track down their records.

What do you think?

Linda

Linda Report 24 Aug 2009 11:54

How do I go about getting the image, i have credits can i do that on this site.

Janice

Janice Report 24 Aug 2009 12:00

The only place you can get the 1911 images is on the 1911 site

http://www.1911census.co.uk/

and you need to get credits for that site. It's £6.95 for 60 credits and it's 10 credits for the transcribed image.
