Hi Joy. Apparently he had a lethal dose of a drug used as a relaxant before giving the patient an anaesthetic. It was mixed with other drugs. The doctor may have a lot to answer for.

I think this was the only possible outcome to be honest imho .......

It's weird tho - but when they first announced that the start of the tour would be delayed, i thought to myself "this just isn't going to happen this tour"................

If Jackson hadn't got this doctor, he would have found another. There's always someone starstruck or greedy or just weak enough.

But mainly, Jackson was powerful enough he could do and have and get anything he * well wanted, when he wanted it and where he wanted it. Surely we all know about the number of prescriptions he had and the number of names he was using to get them. His employees' names -- his son's name, for pity's sake.

He was in control and out of control. He had help, but whatever was done to him, he did himself. Not to say that anyone else is not responsible, even criminally, for what they did -- but no one is responsible for what happened to Michael Jackson except Michael Jackson.

maybe you right janey
but its very sad that money is above common sense and the law

I guess Janey what you're saying is true but someone will have to held responsible to satisfy the family, fans and judicial system. It's true that he would've got whatever he wanted.

i agree if he hadnt got drugs from this doctor he would have got them somewhere else but surely if you think someone has a drug problem you would try to help them not kill them he was a doctor and knew what drugs he was giving and the effects it could have any of his staff that knew what was going on could have went to his mother or brothers and said what was going on and shown their concern for someone who was an addict because at the end of the day thats what he had become he needed help not drugs

No argument, he was a crap doctor. I just wonder at what point he realized he was in so deep he couldn't get out. Then there's the fact that Jackson wasn't paying employees, including the doctor, and leaving would certainly mean never getting paid the large amounts of money owing ...

Jackson was an addict, to put it extremely mildly. I can't see any reason to feel sorry for him. People used him for his money, he used people for whatever he could get from them. Could his family have not known what was going on?? Of course not. Anybody with eyes knew what was going on. If he had wanted help, he could have bought it. And you can't help an addict who won't help themself.

PollyPoppet Report 25 Aug 2009 11:31

i can see what you are saying but an addict doesnt care about anything else only where his drugs are coming from and the drugs he was on wouldnt have been easy to give up he would have needed medical assistance to come off them and surley thats where his doctor should have stepped up and done something to make sure this took place failing that he could have walked away and left it to another doctor he didnt have to give him the drugs as for the family maybe they knew but to what extent drug users are sly they will lie cheat and sell whatever to get their drugs they are not in control of their lives the drugs control them

From newspaper reports *adds some salt by the cupful* Jacksons family and friends all knew what was happening, as did his employees... they hid his drugs, they locked him up, they did all sorts to try to prevent him getting them... and much of his addiction stemmed from painkiller-type drugs.... and even I can get those on prescription fairly easily from my own GP... and he (my GP) really can't monitor just how I use them... as prescribed, or in massive doses to give an extra buzz!

My experience of drug addicts is that they lie, cheat, deceive and steal to fuel their habit, even to themselves... and as Janey said, until they choose to go clean, then they cannot and will not be forced to do so.

In my opinion, Jackson was the engineer of his own demise... he was self indulgent and self destructive... the doctor (s) cos there would almost certainly have been more than one involved... do deserve their come-uppance, as suppliers.... but Jackson refused to take no for an answer... and many of his friends said so!

I have no sympathy for his parents, either... they made such a mess of bringing Michael up, I wouldn't trust them with my goldfish, leave alone my children!!

There... I am outed... I never, ever liked Jackson or most of his family!!

Love

Hypothetical retainer. ;) I don't think he'd been paid in some time. Bank has repossessed his house!
