hi karen i take it the person you were after is still alive did you ask for the number or did they just give you it

Julie Report 25 Aug 2009 23:15

But surely they must have realised the someone will ask you where did you get their number from

If it was me i wouldn't ring it, cos truthfully that person shouldn't have giving it out.

But if i did ring it, trust me im telling ( if asked) who gave it to me lol

That was a complete invasion of privacy to hand you a phone number and it puts you in such a diffcult position.

Could you ask the member who gave you the number, to ring them and ask if it is alright to pass their details on to you?

Do you think they've added that person to their tree and not had their permission to do so? Maybe that's why it would be awkward ...

Karen Report 25 Aug 2009 23:41

thanks Sue
Im not sure Jill it could be, or i thought it might be something more personal, like a bad break up or something they know the person works shifts and told me when the best time to call was, so it sounds like they actually know the person

Don't you have the White Pages online? If your contact doesn't want to ring for you, as long as you have the name, you could get it from the white pages of their locality.
