by how much would the population be reduced if we sent back all our global undesirables, who come to Britain knowing we are a soft touch.
I was speaking the other day to a Hungarian , wo quoted that the gypsy population in Hungary knowmore about the British benefit system than we do 9 don't that say it all.

It is not racist if it is a statistical fact.

RStar

RStar Report 28 Aug 2009 17:24

Ann, it did say that. I didnt put that because someone would screech 'racism'. How sad when we cant speak our minds.

AnninGlos Report 28 Aug 2009 16:49

You can't stop people having babies (didn't china do just that?), well you could stop paying them to have them, maybe only paying child benefit to the first 2 or 3 would concentrate the mind a little.

Actually I think it said (and I hesitate to put this as I risk being called racist but I am certainly not, just quoting statistics) the population explosion was among immigrant families more than British born families.

Latest statistics, 1,000 people a week are coming to UK (I think, was painting my nails lol so not sure pmsl. Maybe its a month? Probably a week tho.) Theres 22,000 peeps on our local housing waiting list, seriously! So where will everyone be housed? I feel sorry for those with children in B&B's etc. Especially at Christmas time :-(( I do think the floodgates need to be shut, even if they re-open in a decade or so, there is not room here.

Hi Smiffy.
Think you are probably on to something.
It never ceases to amaze me when we are advised to do this, or not to that in order to live longer, then in the next breath, the government are wringing their hands because it hasn´t got enough money for pensions, care homes etc.because we are all living too long.

I remember thinking this island was getting crowded in the 60s.......what has been done to stop it since.......nothing!! Quite the opposite in fact with more and badly controlled immigration, increased teenage pregnancy, increased benefits make families more affordable. All manner of bonuses and tax credits make it uneconomical for some people with families to go out to work to support them, making it financially a good move to have even more children. Then with IVF and other medical advances, more are able to have children and to start second families with new husbands/wives/partners. Also more children survive these days. Finally, people are not being killed off in wars in the numbers they used to be.

The media always trots out that we need a bigger population to support the elderly who are living longer, but it is suicide to continue like this as the earth does not keep growing to accommodate us all and the resources we need.

If the population had been stabilised we would have less traffic, less restriction, more room to park, more open spaces, less crowds.
In a few generations it wouldn't be surprising if our descendants looked back on us as the generations who ruined the country with excessive breeding and immigration.

But the population will be controlled eventually. Nature will do it by disease pandemics that will decimate dense populations where they are easily spread between people, especially on public transport!! That or starvation when we have built on too much of the land we need for food.

Well, better enjoy what we have while we still have it, eh?

Saw that in this morning´s Daily Mail. Apparently it´s because people have a longer life expectancy & fewer die of illness.
Durrrr.

It's 9am Friday in Austraia (eastern states), but different times in other states - it's a big enough country to have different time zones in it - and 21 million people!

Some of you had better come out here! Problem is, so many of that 21 million crowd into the cities where the jobs are. The country area is beautiful but not many jobs available.

Hi all

I'm not sure that me going on the pill would make a bit of difference .those days, as they say, are gone.

How this argument jumped from population control to
trying to price "poor" motorists off the road, I've no idea.

Any "poor" motorist who is so impoverished as to be able to buy a car, tax a car, MOT a car and fuel a car isn't "poor" by my definition

I don't sleep with married men but then again I'm not married lol

Seriously though 61 million is a lot of people but you can't start banning people from having babies, there's no way you could police it. The only form of contraception that is 100% is celebacy and not many will willingly practise that.
