Oh Lindy, I had to laugh! Poor dogs, at least they got fed, what if the boys had both thought the other was feeding them and no one did ? I guess the dogs would have soon let them know how hungry they were. They must have thought all their Christmases had come at once with double feeding lol

Glad the car isn't as bad as suspected.

Take care

Morning everyone,

Thank you all for your kind wishes, our eldest is a responsible young man and did help a lot. He watered all the plants as I threatened blue murder if any of them died and kept the house more or less tidy. It was supposed to be his brother that was in charge of the dishes.

Unfortunately, they both fed the dogs but as they hardly see each other ( different shifts ) there was a lack of communication. Diana is as fat as a pig and weighs nearly 30 kilos. The vet is not impressed with me and she has started a diet.

Liz,

Fortunately the damage to the car is not as bad as we first thought, so that is a relief.

Tinkerbell,

I will send you a pm.

Have a great day everyone.!

Lindy ;)))

Hi Lindy, shame about the car, as you say possibly an expensive job to get fixed, not what you need but oh how I know what you mean about men and being stubborn lol

Maybe between now and the next trip you could get some training in on your lads so they help with the dishes and such, did you have much to sort out when you got home or had they done ok keeping the place tidy? No fun when you have to knuckle down the minute you get home eh?

take care and hope the car doesn't cost too much

Morning Liz,

A very lousy routine indeed!

OH went to work this morning, but first had to have his car towed as it gushed out gasoline when he started it. According to the guy of the tow truck a tube was severed by rats, never heard of that before. On Saturday OH went to the shops to pick up a few things. I told him not to go as he was exhausted and jetlagged but been a male and stubborn he went anyway.

On entering our driveway he swiped the wall on the passenger side and I heard a loud noise and think he must have caused the damaged then as his BM is very low and our driveway has a bump at the entrance. If he had just waited for one of the boys to get home from work they would have taken him shopping.

So I am not a very happy camper this Monday morning as I foresee an expensive unexpected account in the near future. The house has not been cleaned all weekend and the sink is overflowing with dishes even though we do have a dishwasher.

Some men are absolutely useless and if they were not needed for procreation we should have done away with the lot of them years ago.

On the other hand, as my dear Mother loves to say "It's your own fault for not having the patience to train them"

Thank you Ann, it is good to be home even if it is so hot.

I am glad that you liked the postcard. It is a beautiful place and still a bit un spoilt but we know that won't last forever.

I believe that the Pestana Group are planning to build a hotel there and I really hope that it will blend in with the rest of the area and will not be a monstrous eyesore, that will set a precedent for other groups to follow suit. Although, OH seems to think that they will not be allowed to do so, as it would spoil the environment of the Atlantic Forest.

There is nothing more calming then falling asleep to the sound of the waves hitting the shore.

Lindy ;))))))

We decided to stay an extra seven nights, our credit cards took a beating but it was worth every penny...lol...and if God and our bank account is willing we want to go back again in two years time.

What a wonderful relaxing time we had and I am very happy to say is that neither of us put on any weight, even though I ate cake with breakfast everyday. I put that down to the long walk to and from the dinning room, pool bar, reception and main entrance of the hotel, from our chalet, which was set in a beautiful tropical garden. I shan't mention that I kept getting lost when I was on my own and had to back track. The only drawback was that the air conditioner died on us twice and we had to move twice, so just as I was getting my bearings I would have to learn a new route, not that I have any sense of direction to start with. The archway leading to the main reception area is marked with a bright orange light material that flutters in the wind so it is easy to find a point of reference. Small wooded signs carved in the shape of a fish indicates which path leads to where and which numbers ( chalets) are in which direction. According to the signs there are 198 numbers but I don't know if that includes the hotel as well. The hotel itself is only a ground floor and first floor and like the chalets scattered all over the place. The chalets are in clusters of eight sharing a garden but because of the gigantic plants and trees you are screened from your neighbors. Every morning and evening we are visited by beautiful bright yellow breasted birds who are related to the finch family but much bigger. Also, tiny "Sague monkey's" who are quite tame and will take fruit from your hand.

Well it is back to the grindstone, the house is a mess and it is hot as blazes, nothing has changed. On the brightside we are alive and well and the house is still standing.
