Hi,

I have just found out that one of my husbands ancestor was a CONQUEERING SMITH EMPLOYING 3 MEN 3 BOYS, anyone have any idea what he would have done? I haven't the slightest idea.

all I can offer is that a Smith is a metal worker - trying hard to think what "conquering" could be - is it a mis spelling?

Maybe it is a coppering smith - one who works with copper???

Sue.

Thanks for the reply, it probably is a Coppering Smith, his son was a Blacksmith and his grandson was a Whitesmith.
