Sorry to hear about your troubles but was really touched to hear that the lady bus driver was so helpful - thank goodness there are still some people out there who are willing to help someone in their troubles. |

I have not I fear found it, but working back I must have had it in the house as I took £3 coins to the local shop to get a tin of beans and some cream. I now think it must have been taken from the house while I was hoovering upstairs two b.....y dogs with me (can't move without them). Rang and cancelled my cards told the banks and card insurance. Friday I phoned the Al and Leic to find out what was needed to get money out. Was told by a nuice girl to take my passport and a statement to the post office and phone this number while there and I would be able to withdraw an amout. Well I did this and the man at the post office bent over backwards to help even phoned the number and loads of others for me. They said they needed a sort code and as there was none on my statement I couldn't give them one. They suggested I go to a main branch both of which were 8miles distant. I told them clearly that my purse had been stole so no money not even my bus pass could they tell me how to get there. Any way no joy. I went to the Yorkshire bank where I have an account taking my passport and a statement and within two minutes had enough cash to tied me over the bank holiday weekend. I have laid a curse on whoever took it so if you see a person with no hands !! The upside of this is the man at the post office I called in today with a thank you card for him and the bus I caught up there I asked how much the fare was explaining how my puse had been stolen and the lady driver said take your ticket and winked. Darned me if I didn't get on her bus coming home and the same take you ticket and wink. Two lovely people. Elaine. |
