I have thought that for a long time, Aileen - I too struggle with the small print and I don't have really bad sight as long as I can focus my varifocals in the right direction.

Opening packets and such are also a struggle for me, especially those ring pull veg and soup cans etc so how on earth do frail folk manage? Maybe we should start a petiton or write to the papers or something. No wonder Kleeneze and Betterwear make so many aids for opening jars etc etc.

Dear All

Hello

Its not only the cookling instructions.

On some of the tins, packets, etc. the best before date is so small you need a large magnifying glass.

I think the food companies should be be considerate.

Best wishes to all

You knew it was me Rose. The xxx gave it away again.

Well I have seen threads on here where no one responds and it is a bit of a downer to the peep. Me, I don't care a jot.

If I am in one of my silly moods I would just keep changing my name and talk to myself.

Well if the telly is rubbish what else has one to do?

All tongue in cheek my friends.

When my pal comes round and we treat ourselves to those ready made curries, we really have to squint to make the cooking instructions out. I always thought it was the bottle of wine we had consumed beforehand, but I think you have a point Aileen. I shall try it without the wine next time and see how it goes. BCXX

Hi Aileen,

Yes it is a worry.

Not cooking the ready meals properly can cause a lot of health problems.

It is something that should be addressed.

Ready meals whether fresh or frozen.

Do you have trouble reading the cooking instructions?

Many of the elderly whether they cook it themselves or as a carer I cook it for them, find it quite difficult sometimes to read the instructions.

My eye sight is quite good but I actually walk around with a magnifying glass in my pocket!

The population is ageing so why don't they be more consumer friendly to the elderly or those with bad eyesight and put the cooking instructions in larger lettering?
