Rambling Report 31 Aug 2009 12:35

Always have, some dreams are fairly self explanatory, some very wild lol

but I realised a few days ago that I do have a recurring dream and what it means...

In my dream I am trying to use a phone to get help or let someone know where I am ( the actual situation I am in differs) but either I can't read the phone numbers I need, or I can dial them but it doesn't connect. This is often the case if I am trying to dial for ambulance or police . I think this may mean I am worried that when it comes down to it I really have no one I can call on for help.

Sometimes it is just that I am on the wrong train/ bus and trying to let people know where I am and that I am coming home to them...quite distressing that , as it is usually my late mother or son ( maybe I am over worried about letting family down or feel that I already have ?)

Most of my dreams are totally bonkers, but I enjoy them. There will usually be something in them that relates to a situation,or problem or maybe something in the news.I had a dream that Michael Jackson left me £10.000.000 (Million)not sure about number of noughts lol.
I get cross if I wake up in the middle of a dream, turn over and then can't carry on with the same one.
I had nightmares as a child.2 reoccurring ones.Little people would pop out of the end of my toes,so I always kept my legs curled up.Never slept with straight legs .
The other nightmare was being chased around the deck of a ship by a lion.

The only warning there was that my arm would fall off and I would die of heat exhaustion if I didn't wake up and move soon. LOL

Mick a good fart would sort that out..tsk

Teresa , yes I think you should of took that as I warning, your arm being up your back says to me that your OH who was hot trying to persude you in to something, the too layers of bedclothes tells me that you were the one that carried the can or burden, you was the problem solver and he was happy to carry on and let you do it...

For example. One night, years ago now, I had a nightmare that I was tied in a chair in a dark room, an old flame was holding a dagger to my throat. I was trying to scream for help but nothing was coming out.

Eventually I did manage to shout, and woke myself up lol. I was laying on my stomach with my arm underneath me, it had gone numb. My then husband had got hot in the night and thrown the quilt off, so I had two layers on top of me and I was sweating....

Now, was this a warning that something terrible was going to happen to me, or was it that I was too hot and cutting off the circulation to my arm?

In my experience dreams are caused by pressure of intestinal gas- usually from eating too many pickled onions before going to bed!

Oooo and another thing about nightmares. I've only EVER had nightmares when I've been laying in an awkward position and probably got a numb arm or something, and/or I'm hot. My body panics and tries to waken me from deep sleep quickly, and that is when nightmares occur..for me.

I do understand that someone who is really traumatised through some event, will have nightmares about it..but that brings me back to the emotional state again.

I dream some right weird things, a long standing one is that my eldest son is a baby or I still go to school and know I am about to leave and again never sat my exams, I think that one explains it self, but I have dreamt warnings before....but I am a bit of witch wouldnt you say :-)

Honestly? No

Dreams are elements of things that have happened, or things you are thinking about..which become distorted into wierd and wonderful dreams while your brain is trying to file the information in your sleep.

I dont' really believe they can prophesy things that will happen to you, or have hidden meanings, although some dreams can be indicative of your emotional state at the time.

But, it's fun interpreting some elements of dreams...just for the hell of it.
